Chapter 12 - I'm not going to do that

Eliza felt frustrated. What in the world did she do to deserve such troubles from these guys? Those were her thoughts. She saw the door moving slowly and she made a plan to hide the dress she was working on in case he wanted to mess with it.

Pete opened the door and saw Eliza standing a few steps away. He smirked and advanced his steps towards her.

"What do you want from me?" She asked.

"Aren't you glad to see me?" He asked.

"Why would I? I don't even know you!" She stated plainly.

"True but most girls would love to see me for the first time." He bragged and she folded her arms unimpressed.

"Well, I'm not 'most girls', I'm me." She pointed at herself with her thumb. "And if you have a problem with that, you can do me a favor and walk out that door." She persisted pointing at the door.

"You can't tell me what to do. I'm superior." He said.

"I know." She said, faking a sign of remorse and he smiled victoriously. "Is there anything you need?" She asked politely.

"It's easy, just tell me your pretty name and we'll be friends." He said and she blinked twice unbelievably. "Let me introduce myself first. I'm Peter, Pete for short." He said but she only shook her head not interested with his introduction.

"This must be your 'group's' plan." She emphasized the 'group' with bunny fingers. "You all want to get an opportunity to humiliate me, an innocent gal. What can I expect?"

"You, innocent?" Pete asked. "You're a vamp and all vamps are the same, they all have one motive and goal."

"Stop calling me that. I'm not a vamp! I'm not a vamp!! I'm not a vamp!!!" She repeated rudely almost to the point of yelling. "How many times do I have to sing it to you guys? I. Am. Not. A. Vamp."

"Then why did you come here? You obviously want to attract our attention." He pointed out.

"I came here for none of that. I love designing." She stated. "I came to Ze Ztar to achieve my dreams." She added.

"You're bluffing." He accused and snickered.

"Say whatever you want to say. I don't need you to believe me." She said, "It means nothing to me."

"You said you love designing but you're all alone in this room doing nothing. What proof do you have to accompany your claim?" He asked.

"I don't want to do this but..." She walked to where she hid the mannequin wearing the dress she was working on and brought it out. Pete marveled at the dress within but didn't show his expression out. "This is how far I've gone and I would like to continue, please can you leave me now?" She requested.

"I will." He said. "But tell me something, why don't you be a model?" He inquired.

"I don't wanna be a model. I want to be who I want to be. You guys keep insisting on what I don't want. Please let me be." She requested.

"I won't, but I'll go for now. Just tell me your name." He said but she shook her head indicating she wouldn't do so.

"I'm not going to do that." She sternly said,

"Right!" He nodded and left.

"Is everything alright?" Maggie asked as he strode out but he didn't give her attention.

Eliza sighed with relief as he left. She closed the door but then it burst open so quickly. Maggie showed up and asked her what had happened between the both of them but she just shrugged.

"I'm not interested in whatever he wants, I just wanna do my best while I'm here. Nothing is more important than achieving my dream." Eliza stated plainly.

"You really are something." Maggie said. 'Or is she pretending?' She thought.

Jellal turned from the surveillance screens and shook his head.

"Argh! Another failure. Now Felix will have me go down to her. I better act smart." He said and adjusted his hat and left there.

It was a tough day but Eliza was able to scale through and finish the dress. She showed it to Maggie and Emily and they both marveled at the beautiful combination of colors. The stitches were handmade but they were steady and perfect.

"You're a natural, I love it." Emily said, still admiring the dress.

"It's all thanks to your encouragement." Eliza said and smiled at the thought of them appreciating her efforts.

"The day's almost over, you want to have dinner with us?" Maggie asked but Eliza shook her head.

"Thanks for the offer but I already have plans." Eliza refused. "I'll see you tomorrow." She walked away from them and met up with Allison outside the building.

"Hey!" Allison caught her attention and they both hugged each other with glittering feelings. "How was it?"

"It was fantastic. I made a dress and they all loved it."

"See, I told you. Get rid of the baggy clothes and feel the heat of the pressure." Allison stated.

"Well, your heat landed me into too many obstacles today." Eliza said, easing her hands in surrender.

"What happened?" Allison asked, concerned.

Eliza have her a quick look and sighed. There was no use hiding it now that the disturbance has gotten to this extent.

"I'll tell you when we get home." She informed her and they laughed their way home.
