Chapter 13 - Jellal, the guy who was behind the wheels

"So you mean to tell me that they all pester you just to know your name?" Allison asked in disbelief after Eliza had narrated the whole day's event to her.

"Yep, and it didn't end there. They all insisted that I was a vamp who came to Ze Ztar to seduce them." Eliza shrugged.

"What?! Unbelievable!" Allison exclaimed.

"You better believe it. That's what I get when I dress up. Tomorrow, back to baggy." Eliza concluded but Allison quickly shook her head.

"Na-ah! You will not put on any baggy dress as far as I'm concerned." She said.

"Then what am I going to do? They don't believe my intentions to just be a designer." Eliza pointed out. "I shouldn't have worn what I wore. Just thinking about me makes me mad." She muttered.

"Then don't think about it. They won't add or subtract anything from your life by calling you a vamp or whatnot. No matter what they do, you'll always be you." Allison assured and Eliza looked up at her.

"You're right." Eliza smiled but then realized something. "Wait, weren't there four boys in the F4?" She asked unsure.

"What about them?" Allison asked and Eliza started counting her fingers while recalling her encounters. "Who's the last guy?" She asked and Allison shrugged.

"That's to say it isn't over yet. You have one more to contend with." Allison announced and Eliza fell back on the bed in exhaustion. Allison laughed.

"Could this job get any more complicated?" Eliza asked as Allison lay by her.

"You know, you could try to do something else." Allison suggested and Eliza turned her face to hers giving her a 'seriously?' look with her well carved and even eyebrows. "Just kidding." She said and Eliza turned her gaze to the ceiling.

"You know, they want me to be a model as well." Eliza said.

"It's not bad but I know you refused." Allison concluded.

"You know me well." Eliza said. "I know you want me to be a model even if you know too well that what I want is to become a designer. It's not a bad thing but I just don't want to do so."

"I know and I respect that." Allison kissed Eliza's forehead. "You can remain a designer and if those guys pester you anymore, let me know, I'll show them who's boss." Eliza laughed and gently closed her eyes.

At work, Eliza was given several things to do at a time. They weren't hard nor complex; it could be done in an hour and so she did it.

The joy of living out her dreams filled her from the strands of her hair to the tip of her toes, that she smiled all through the day. She made no mistake to leave the studio for fear of running into any of the F4.

The day went on smoothly with no sign of the F4. Eliza was just rounding up the designs she had been given to practicalize on when a guy wearing a boater hat with white hair and wearing a waistcoat, appeared before her.

"Hi!" He said and she looked up at his face. "I'm Jellal." He stretched his hand for a handshake.

Eliza immediately remembered who he was and threw her face away from his, leaving his hand hanging.

'This must be the last one. I better be careful.' Eliza thought and stood up. "I'll leave first." She announced and made to leave.

"Wait!" He stopped her. "I don't need you to introduce yourself to me, it's fine." He said.

"Then what do you want?" She asked but he stayed silent. Then, she remembered something. "Ah, you were the one behind the wheels, weren't you? You're the reason behind this whole ordeal."

Hearing this, Jellal knew he had hit a rock. She probably hated him now so how was he going to proceed?

"You don't seem to have any plans on apologizing. I'll just leave and get out of your way before you splash something even worse on me." She said sounding sarcastic but serious.

"I'm sorry." Jellal suddenly apologized and she stopped. "It was my fault and I was being childish about it. Please forgive me."

Eliza was stunned. He really apologized. Then amongst the four of them, he seemed to be the better one. Yet, she couldn't help but feel that something was amiss.

"I'm not here to trouble you about any of that stuff the others did, I just want to talk to you about the set." Jellal suddenly said.

"The set?" She didn't quite understand it fully.

"Yes, the set where you guys will be headed to while running the clothing errands." He nodded.

'He must be up to something. I'll just play along.' She thought. "Okay then, I'm all ears." She sat down and he sat by her. He took out a paper and started drafting out things. She paid keen interest and was fascinated.

The other three stood by the surveillance watching what was going on. It was really boring to them and they felt tired of watching.

"What's he doing? Where's the action and drama?" Urie asked.

"Looks like he's tutoring her or something." Pete added.

"You two shut it!" Felix snapped. "He's doing a pretty good job. The kid's got brains, he might actually pull this off." He said to himself.

At the end of their discussion, Eliza felt happy. All what Jellal had said to her was so fascinating.

"Do you understand it all?" Jellal asked once they were done.

"Definitely." She nodded.

"Then I'll be off. Maybe we'll see some other time." He said and she smiled as he made to leave.

"Wait!" Eliza snapped and he stopped. "I can't tell you my name but I'll tell you what I didn't tell the others." She said and walked closer to him. She stretched her hands towards him for a handshake. "It's V." She said.

"V?" He felt confused but she didn't say anything other than that. It was left for him to figure it out. 'V as in vamp?' He thought.

"Okay, bye. Thanks for your help!" She said and scurried away happily.

"Fascinating!" He exclaimed. "V." He pondered on the word and then smiled.
