~ Scarlet ~
I sat still, staring at the three men who seemed to be my mates. How was I supposed to cope with their three different personas and Vendetta's?
I watched the three of them leave without exchanging a word with each other.
"Follow me!" says the guard in a harsh tone. I wasted no time and followed him immediately. He led us out of the room and into a well-lit hallway. Stepping into the bright light, I was struck by the impeccable taste of the Fedele brothers, which seemed to match the Therble floor, elegant chandeliers, and guards stationed everywhere made me feel like I was in a luxurious mansion.
"Take them to their rooms," The guard handed us over to a woman, who quickly greeted us with a smile.
"Welcome to the Whisper Howling Pack and, most importantly, the Fedele Family," she smiled, though I couldn't help but scoff inwardly at the overly kind words used to describe these men, who I had known to be monsters, but I had no choice, so I had to force a smile while I followed him into the building.
"I'm Ms. Jade," she introduced herself, offering each of us a handshake. I did the same but noticed the others were giving her the respect of bowing, which left me perplexed, and I refused to do so.
When we entered the building, I noticed Beta Xavier sitting on one of the plush couches in the sitting room. It appeared to be his apartment, and from his looks, I knew he wasn't happy. Cracking him with mixed emotions was like playing games without their characters. Jade immediately bowed upon seeing him, and the other maids quickly followed suit. I, however, stood dumbfounded, not understanding the reason for their gestures. We had only just met him a few minutes ago, and when we did, we didn't bow. Xavier, noticing I didn't bow, fixed his intense gaze on me. I met his eyes without flinching, but those eyes were fiery, and I watched as he stood up, his eyes still fixed on me. He drew closer, and Bey didn't make a sound.
What was happening? I wanted a mate to take me out of the Wintermoon pack, but I would rather die than have these three beasts be my mate.
As he walked close to me, I felt it was time, and my knees gave way. I Scarlet of the Howl Slave House reject you, Xavier Fedele, if the Whisper Howling g pack
He looked at me, his hand on his chest, and I could hear him seethe in pain. This was one of the fears of every werewolf. The pain of rejecting a fated mate was excruciating, but I'd take it a hundred times to stay with any of my mates.
"Put her inside, she'll be mine," he finally declared, and Jade nodded. I wondered if he wouldn't accept the rejection, and I got even more perplexed if the bond would be broken since I didn't use my real pack name.
...
The next morning, I was awakened by the continuous honking of car horns, indicating that people were in a hurry. I dragged myself out of bed, yawning and feeling like a hungry wolf. As I entered the sitting room, I noticed it was empty. I pulled back the designer curtains and saw different luxury cars rushing out of the gate like they had an urgency to meet up.
Sitting on a plush couch, I took in the luxurious interior of Xavier's apartment. I couldn't do that the previous day because he had been there. My eyes wandered to various artworks that adorned the walls, and I realized how much I loved art portraits. If I had attended Wintermoon High School, I would probably have pursued a career as an artist.
I was enjoying myself, admiring the art, when I came across what I initially thought was another portrait but soon realized was a photograph. The first one was a family photo shoot, and I could only recognise Xavier. He was in the picture with two little girls and an older woman who seemed to be the children's mother. Did Xavier have a family? I chided myself for delving into matters that weren't my concern.
As I continued exploring the apartment, lost in my thoughts, Jade burst into the room, startling me.
"Miss Scarlet, are you just waking up?" she inquired with a smile. I nodded, but her expression quickly turned into a frown, and she raised her eyebrows, her voice taking on a scolding tone.
"It's past nine, and you're supposed to be done with the boss's chambers and have served him his meals."
I whispered a curse to myself, realizing I had overslept. I would have to wake up as early as 6 a.m. to serve Xavier as though he were crippled. something I had never done in my life. I stood there, dumbfounded, as she glared at me.
"Come have breakfast. The Alpha requests your presence in the dining room," she said harshly, her voice laced with jealousy. I didn't care about her feelings. I just followed her.
I entered Alpha Eliot's building and was struck by how lavish it was. The Fedele brothers had distinct apartments tailored to their tastes. I walked quietly, and upon reaching Alpha Eliot's dining room, I saw that he was alone. There was no sign of Xavier or Addison.
"Join me, Scarlet," Alpha Eliot said with a smile, and he gestured for me to sit. I couldn't help but wonder how he knew my name. Taking in the assortment of dishes on the table, my stomach grumbled, and I began to salivate. I was initially hesitant to take a bite, but my hunger overcame any doubts. I began to eat.
As I ate, I noticed Alpha Eliot staring intensely at me with his one eye, and Maya, my wolf, seemed to be very excited as I had breakfast with our mate.
"Scarlet," he finally said, breaking the silence, his deep voice resonating in the room. I raised my eyebrows, and a lustful grin played on my lips.
"If you need more, I can have them serve you," he suggested, and I declined with a lie, saying, "No, sir, I'm full." I didn't want to act too gullible, so I acted like a classy wolf in front of my mate or my target.
"Which pack did you come from?" He dropped his cutlery and turned to me. I didn't think far. I chuckled inwardly, knowing this was my job and not even he could catch me off guard.
"I can't remember my pack. I was taken in by those old hags since I was barely five. I had stayed there all my life," I replied innocently.
"Old Hags?" he scoffed before continuing," You seem to have a big mouth, but that's no big deal." I chirped in immediately, taking advantage to flirt as usual. " The bigger the mouth, the more deep throats it takes."
I saw him look down, his cheeks red as he began to blush, the corners of his mouth rising as he giggled. Harry didn't lie when he said I could take on any man. Who would have told me I would see Alpha Eliot blush at my words?
"Big enough to contain all but not three," his voice dripped with sarcasm, but I couldn't help but scoff, refusing to spare him a glance or even reply. The next minute, Jade came in to clear the dishes, casting a spiteful glance in my direction. I couldn't care less about her opinion, I could see her deadly glare at me. I wouldn't blame her. Having me sit with Alpha Eliot and have my dishes packed would make anyone crazy, but who gives two cents?
Alpha Eliot whispered to me, "I need you to serve me tonight," and I was filled with satisfaction. I pretended to be obedient, replying with a submissive tone, "At your service, my lord," and even giving him a flirtatious wink that made him chuckle.
"Have my drink ready by 10 p.m., don't be late," he said before leaving the dining room. I couldn't help but laugh like a sorceress who had successfully cast her first spell. It seemed I wouldn't have to stay here for months if Alpha Eliot was always in such a mood.
In the evening, the noise from Xavier's apartment became deafening, with his men celebrating something that I did not know of. As I opened my door and considered going to the sitting room to see what was happening, I hesitated. I remembered the incident with the guard on my first day here, so I decided not to go. As I turned to go back into my room, I heard voices coming from the next room. I couldn't resist the urge to eavesdrop.
"Are you planning to keep her?" a voice, which I recognised as Addison's, asked.
"It's none of your business! I bought her, and she's mine!" Another voice, Xavier's, replied in a harsh tone, causing Addison to snap back at him, "She's our mate! Name your price, and I'll double it to take her, besides, she has rejected you!"
"That's something that feels strange, I didn't feel the wolf bond break," he says, making me blink from my hideout. It does feel strange, but I wanted nothing to do with any of them.
"Move her to my quarters, and let's bargain," Addison urged.
"Joker!" Xavier scoffed.
He let out a long sigh and then made his way out, causing me to dash into my room and lock the door behind me as I breathed heavily. But it seemed they had put a price on my head. There's no need for the scuffle, I don't mind serving all three lords.
Hours later, I jolted out of bed when I realized there was no more noise from the sitting room. I quickly rushed out and glanced at the wall clock. It was past 10 p.m. already, Alpha Eliot's appointment!
I hurriedly took a bath, applied Charming deodorant, and dressed in a slim dress that was nearly transparent, concealing a small dagger that Harry had given me in my waistband. Today would be my first ordeal meeting the same person who took my parents away from me.
