Chapter 1 - I think I recall something

There are things we want to remember and things we want to forget, but obviously we are not in control nor do we have a choice.

"Sh*t why did this happen".

Things I regret, things i thought would never happen, began miraculously appearing before me.

"If only I didn't remember, this would have never happened!"

The world began to burn and i was at fault.

-------------------------

My name is Prince and unlike what my name sounds like (why my dear parents!!? did you name me like that) am just an ordinary person.

A commoner.

Born in an ordinary village.

But Im happy with what I have.

"Son, food is ready!!"

"..."

"Prince, food is ready!!"

"..."

"Are you still sleeping?!! You know today is a big day!!"

"..."

"GODDAMIT, WAKE UP !"

I miss them, i miss them so much.

"Zzzz, huh.. a dream? Wait a minute.. its already..."

As I looked at the clock I realized

"...Im late?!!?

"Mom why didn't you wake me up?"

"Damn it, today is the day the sponsor for the village arrives!"

With a jolt, I leaped out of bed. The realization hit me like a bucket of icy water. I cant be late on a day like this, my life would be ruined.

I hastily threw on the simplest attire I could find, a worn-out shirt and trousers. As I rushed down the creaky wooden stairs, the aroma of breakfast lingered in the air. My mother, a woman with a heart as warm as her kitchen, greeted me with a mix of concern and exasperation.

"Son, you're finally awake. Hurry, eat your breakfast. Today's important," she urged, placing a steaming plate of porridge in front of me.

I nodded, shoveling everything into my mouth as I stole glances at the clock. Time was slipping away . The village sponsor's visit meant potential prosperity, a chance for my family to get some money!

The village square buzzed with anticipation. Neighbors exchanged hurried pleasantries, and children scurried around, their laughter echoing through the narrow lanes. Flags fluttered in the breeze, and makeshift banners adorned the buildings, creating a festive atmosphere.

As I navigated through the familiar paths, I couldn't shake off the weight of responsibility.

"This is like the only opportunity for me to help my family, and i had to wake up late..."

I am just a mere commoner, a 17-Year old useless bum who is good at nothing but wants to repay the family that raised him.

By making a lasting impression or a connection to the sponsor, i could get a job or at least get my family a better standing in the village. As the thought lingered in my mind I approached the heart of the village, where the meeting with the sponsor would unfold.

The village elders, dressed in their best attire, stood near the podium. The air hummed with a mixture of excitement and nervous energy. My steps faltered, a moment of self-doubt creeping in. Nevertheless, I straightened my shoulders, determined to face whatever challenges for my family.

Little did I know, this day held more than just the promise of prosperity for our village. It held secrets, regrets, and a destiny I had yet to unravel

A destiny I had forgotten.
