Chapter 18 - Goblins Playground(3)

'Oh, fuck.'

As the group of ten goblins dashed at him, Bellator drew his sword from his storage ring.

Swinging his sword, it cleaved cleanly through a goblin's head. Using the sword again, he lodged it into another goblin's chest.

As it seemed the fight was going favorably for Bellator, his swords, which had just lodged into a third goblin, got stuck.

'Fuck.' Abandoning the sword, Bellator used the daggers from his ring as he let out a series of slashes.

Though this wasn't a one-sided beatdown, the goblins clawed, stabbed, and even bit Bellator, leaving a series of different wounds on his body.

'Don't stop.' An unstoppable resolve filled Bellator as he continued fighting.

After fifteen minutes of fighting, corpses lay all around Bellator. The only sound being released was his haggled breath as his body collapsed on the floor.

Various cuts and bruises plagued his body as he lay on the floor.

Even though his body hurt, a smirk could be seen on Bellator's face as the adrenaline that had built up from the previous fight left his body.

'It hurts like hell, but I did it. I can survive.'

As he stayed on the floor for a whole hour, Bellator slowly got up as he started carving the mana stones from the goblin's corpses.

As he started putting the mana stones in the ring, something happened.

'Fuck, the storage is finished.' Bellator thought as no more mana stones could enter the ring.

Taking out the backpack from his storage ring, Bellator threw out his bloodied clothes from Enchanta Grove and other items which he wouldn't need.

Freeing up enough space, Bellator continued putting more mana stones inside the ring.

Collecting all the mana stones, Bellator continued ahead.

Walking for another five minutes, the once narrow cave was now a large expanse, allowing him to move freely.

'How much longer do I have to walk?' Bellator thought, annoyed.

Finally, after a long journey, light could be seen as laughter could be heard.

Using the cover of darkness, Bellator peeked at the goblins, and what he saw horrified him.

It seemed all the male goblins were gone as the only remaining were small children goblins. They could be seen laughing, as women and children all ate. The mood was jovial as deeper amongst them, a goblin wearing what seemed to be traditional attire sat and watched. This goblin was twice the size of normal ones as its muscles bulged, a stern look was on its face as it guarded over them.

'I have to kill children.' Bellator thought as he hesitantly decided his next actions.

He had never expected to have to kill children, as a moral dilemma presented itself.

'I have to kill them.' Bellator kept repeating, trying to give himself self-reassurance.

'If goblins attacked, they would kill children without a second thought.' Bellator thought, trying to justify killing them.

'But won't that make me the same as them? If I can kill them like they kill us, won't that make me a monster too?' Bellator thought as conflicting emotions ran rampant in his head.

'I can't do it.' Bellator thought as he watched the goblins.

As he turned around, deciding to allow the goblins to live, an image popped up in his head.

There he saw a dead Aurelia lying on the cold hard floor, as the world around her burned in flames.

'If I don't get this item, it will be harder to protect my family, so even if I have to become a monster, as long as my family is alive, it doesn't matter.'

Finally deciding on his next set of actions, Bellator gripped his sword tightly as a resolute look appeared on his face.

Looking at the goblin warrior, Bellator quickly used inspect.

[Name: Goblin Warrior]

[Rank: G]

[Type: Monster]

[Abilities:]

Enhance (G): The goblin warrior can enhance one stat of its choice by a minor realm for 3 minutes, the drawback being it will be paralyzed for a month.

'3 minutes, huh? Our stats should be on par, but once it activates its skill, it'll probably have the upper hand.'

Walking towards the goblins, it didn't take long before they noticed him.

"KRIIEEKKK."

Seeing the human covered in green blood, the goblins screamed as they cowered in fear.

Stepping ahead, the goblin warrior with a large rusted broadsword in its hand looked angrily at Bellator.

Its fingers gripping the sword tightly, although the goblin warrior was uncharacteristically tall for a goblin, it was about the same height as Bellator.

Its bulging muscles contracted as it launched itself at Bellator.

'The wolves were faster.'

Bellator thought as he watched the goblin warrior propel itself towards him, a *clank* sound reverberated through the air.

As the two swords made contact, neither side held an advantage. Even with the force it used to propel itself, they stood at a clear stalemate.

'It seems its muscles are just for decoration,' he thought, feeling the weight of the goblin's attack.

Pushing back against the goblin, it became clear who had the upper hand, as the goblin slowly started being pushed back.

Jumping back and giving itself some space, the goblin immediately dashed at Bellator again.

Knowing its disadvantage in strength, the goblin dashed around Bellator using its superior speed. Its speed was fast, too fast for Bellator to react properly.

As it dashed around, confusing him, Bellator let out a series of random slashes, hoping to hit it, but that seemed useless.

As the goblin efficiently dodged all of Bellator's strikes, proof of its experience in fighting.

Unlike Bellator, who struggled.

'Slashing around randomly will just tire me out,' Bellator thought as he stopped slashing, waiting for the right opportunity.

Seeing that he had stopped slashing, the goblin warrior immediately punched in his direction, letting out a swift slash at his neck, aiming to end the fight quickly.

Barely ducking under the sword, Bellator quickly stashed his sword in his ring as the daggers appeared in its place.

With the close range, Bellator landed a decisive blow on its stomach, as green blood started flowing.

'Got you.'

Jumping back again, the goblin warrior clutched its stomach as it stared at Bellator, its anger visible as it tightly held its sword.

A red hue started enveloping its body, as its body started getting bigger and bigger, as it stood towering over Bellator.

'What stat did it increase?' Bellator thought as he looked at the goblin warrior.

Not having a lot of time before the skill countdown, the goblin warrior dashed at Bellator.

As their swords made contact again, Bellator's body, which previously could compete with the goblin, was now being sent flying through the air as his back made contact with the hard ragged cave walls.

Blood gushed from his mouth as Bellator's body fell.

'Just 3 minutes,' Bellator repeated as he forced his wobbly tired legs to move.
