Chapter 17 - Goblins Playground(2)

Taking a step forward, Bellator's first fight within a dungeon was about to begin. Yet before that, Bellator activated his trait:

'Inspect'

[Name: Goblin]

[Rank: G-]

[Type: Monster]

[Abilities: None]

Looking at the goblin's stats, a slight smirk appeared on Bellator's face.

Switching off his flashlight to avoid alerting them to his presence and putting his sword in his storage ring, Bellator dashed at the first goblin.

The goblins conversed, unaware of the presence of a human, as they held their weapons in their hands.

Hearing footsteps approaching, the goblins immediately faced Bellator. Reacting too late, Bellator's fist made contact with the first goblin, and a thud reverberated through the surroundings.

As the first goblin collapsed on the floor, Bellator grabbed the goblin's dagger. He immediately turned around, not giving the other goblin an opportunity to attack.

Stabbing it in the eyes, green blood flowed from the wound, staining Bellator's clothes.

The goblin immediately let out a shrill scream, dropped its weapon, and held onto its eye in pain.

"KRRRIIIEEEKK"

Quickly stabbing it again, the color drained from the goblin's skin as its body went lifeless.

Knowing that one goblin was still alive, Bellator immediately slashed at it, not allowing it to stand up.

Staring at the goblins' dead bodies, no emotions were invoked within Bellator as he realized that, in his new world, he could not have mercy on monsters.

Using the dagger to carve a hole in the goblin's chest, a small blue glowing stone the size of a pebble appeared in Bellator's hand as he inspected it.

[Item: Mana stone]

[Rank: G-]

[Description: A weak mana stone that stores a miniscule amount of mana within it]

Doing the same to the other corpse, Bellator now held two mana stones in his hand as he stored them in his storage ring.

Green blood could be seen all over his hands as Bellator moved forward.

Moving deeper into the cave, Bellator's footsteps echoed as the once narrow cave started expanding.

"Since the cave is expanding, I should be able to fight with my sword from here on out. But I'm not sure if that is the best decision. I won't be able to swing my sword fast enough, and the number of goblins I encounter will probably only increase from now."

Without enough time to think, another group of goblins could be seen ahead. This time, a group of five goblins could be seen conversing, just like before, holding their rusted daggers.

"Can I take on five goblins? I mean, I didn't struggle against two, but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew."

Luckily for Bellator, the goblins quickly separated as two goblins went deeper into the cave.

"Let's do this."

Dashing towards them, the goblins quickly noticed a dark figure heading towards them as Bellator used the same strategy as before.

Kicking one of the goblins, its body collapsed on the floor as the pressure from the kick forced green blood out of its mouth.

"Kriieekkk" Seeing the unknown assailant, the goblins immediately prepared for a fight.

Slashing at Bellator's leg, a small cut appeared on his leg as the goblin had neither the strength nor speed to give a deep wound.

Blood leaked from his wound, and a small grunt released itself from Bellator's mouth as he stabbed at the goblin, killing it instantly.

The third goblin, seeing the death of its comrades, immediately ran deeper into the cave.

"Shit," trying to chase after the goblin, he was stopped by a goblin grabbing his leg, preventing him from moving.

Stabbing the goblin and killing it, Bellator stopped as he carved out the mana stones from their bodies.

Storing the mana stones in his ring, Bellator stopped as he caught his breath. Huffing could be heard as sweat trickled on his skin.

"Fuck, it got away. I need a new strategy. The goblins are probably aware of my existence and will probably prepare."

Taking a break to rest, Bellator planned his next moves.

"I need to go deeper into the cave. This space is too narrow, and if all the goblins come to face me at once, I'll definitely lose."

Moving forward, the cave continued expanding as Bellator walked for 15 minutes without encountering any goblins.

The wall, which was once adorned with torches, was empty as the only light visible was from Bellator's flashlight.

"They want to fight me in the dark. Their eyesight is better than mine, and they would have the advantage. Plus, my flashlight only provides limited light."

As he reached deeper into the cave, Bellator tripped as two goblins lunged at him from within the darkness.

"Fuck, a trap."

Quickly trying to get back up, a goblin landed on his back as it stabbed him.

"Aagh" Letting out a grunt as the dagger tore into his back, a wound opened as the dagger stuck to his back.

Before he could get the goblin off his back, the other goblin lunged at him as it attempted to slash his neck.

Rolling to the left, barely dodging a killing strike, Bellator stood up with the goblin still clinging to his back.

Using all the strength he could muster, Bellator slammed his back against the wall, making the goblin fall off, but in turn allowing the dagger to pierce deeper into his skin.

"I can't take the dagger out, or else I'll bleed too much."

Making the decision to keep the dagger lodged into his back, Bellator slashed at the goblin's leg, immobilizing it.

As the goblin screamed, a group of ten goblins appeared from deeper in the cave, standing menacingly with a smirk on their faces.

"Oh, fuck."
