Chapter 23 - Book 1: Chapter 22: Meeting with Night Clan

When Sifir finished his time in the cultivation chamber and got adjusted to his new breakthrough, Sifir knew that his current realm was not enough to change much in the short term. Stepping out of the cultivation chamber building and seeing several city guards. Sifir could only frown upon seeing them.

"Hello, young cultivator. We will ask you to come with us to the Manor Lord Estate." One of the young city guards spoke with a careless expression. However, there was no room to bargain.

"Why don't you say I have no choice and I am being escorted?" Sifir spoke out with a mocking tone. The young city guard only shrugged and said nothing.

"I do like smart people. Shall we go?" There was a slight smile on the young city guard's face with no quams about doing things the hard way or the easy way. "Or do you need time to finish adjusting your power?"

"Let go to Manor Lord Estate." Sifir had a very ugly expression behind his mask.Everyone vanished from their spot.

----

In the main hall, where Murda and Glory were sitting directly across from Loaded and Sayaro. The room was eeriely quiet, and no one said a word. The atmosphere was thick with tension. No one wanted to speak first. However, since Murda and Glory came to Night Clan Estate, it is only right for them to speak first.

"Hello, Patriarch Loaded and Matriarch Sayaro. Before we deep dive into the heart of the matter that we came for. What do you think of the new Matriarch of the Sunchaser?"

"Mhmmm... My beloved, do you want to answer this?" Loaded look at Sayaro with a knowing grin. With a deep sigh Sayaro nodded.

"How can I say this?" Sayaro pauses for a minute before speaking again. "The new Matriarch of the Sunchaser is cunning, can be overbearing like her mother, and very limited on patience. Plus, with that mysterious figure behind her. There is no doubt there is something more behind the sense."

Glory chimed in as well. "The new Matriarch of the Sunchaser is more of an old fox. Judah is calm and thorough about what needs to be done. By hook or by crook, she will get things done. I feel like she is racing to complete some grand plan. However, those are my assumptions from how her tolerance is limited."

Everyone agreed with Glory, and Sayaro said about Judah. Loaded spoke coolly, "Judah does have some right to be overbearing because of that mysterious figure.Patriarch Murda, do you think it has to do with anything with our clans?"

"That could be a possibility. The Sunchaser and our clans have been connected together since our first true emperor, or maybe even longer. The ancient scripture does speak of mysterious figures and items," Murda said with a hint of seriousness on his face. Everyone looks at him with a serious look on their face.

"Do you mean...?"

"Shut it! My beloved Sayaro. We don't know and better not to say anything out loud for now." Loaded had a serious look on his face.

Cough. "We will table that conversation for a later date. What I am pondering is, Did the new Matriarch of Sunchaser ask the Night clan to form a new legion with them?"

Loaded look at both Murda and Glory with an amusing smile on his face. "We did, but with some conditions. What about the Midnight clan?"

"Our answer is that we agree to forming the new legion with the Sunchaser." Glory said coolly.

They didn't bother speaking in sophistry about the meeting with Judah. Because at this point it was already an open secret. Many powers were watching the big three clans. Their moves will have a lot of indirect consequences for the minor powers in other prefectures and regions. This was another reason they didn't beat around the bush.

Judah gave them the same requirements but different methods for forcing them to agree to the formation of this new legion. No one in the room was happy about that fact, and they will count this offense later. Both clans had their own design for the legion, and letting a junior have full control over that was impossible. That was akin to letting a baby hold a weapon of mass destruction. No one with common sense would let that happen. Plus, they could use that power to add to their current force while suffering minimum loss.

Unknown to them, on this day in the far future would be called Birthed of Twilight Legion, one of the ferocious legions on the planet. Having multiplied future key talent and assets that would make other top powers jealous. This legion would also become the backbone of Sifir and Judah's ambition.

"Patriarch Murda, even if we do agree with the Judah plan. What makes her so confident that we won't have our own design?"

"Patriarch Loaded, I don't think Judah believes our sincerity for one instance. And I also believe Judah has more than one plan to keep this legion under her control. Judah's ambition is not small by any means."

Sayora chimed in when Murda finished speaking. "What do you mean Judah's ambition is small?" Sayaro has one eyebrow raised in curiousity.

"Judah wanted to build a new empire on the bone of the old capital with Sifir."

Loaded and Sayaro were shocked by this information. They could not wrap their heads around the idea. No less with little brat Sifir. "I am going to cut straight to the chase on this matter. Patriarch Murda, do tell you to leak information to the Sunchaser clan about that incident." A cold glare was suffuse in Loaded's eyes.

Glory slammed her palm down on the table, almost shattering it. "How. dare . you!"

"Haha! That is the funniest thing I heard from you, Loaded. While that would be amazing on the surface. Wouldn't that expose my clan, the Midnight clan, to losing a potential successor? What more, how does it help the Midnight clan in telling the Sunchaser clan? They won't give us any benefits for telling them."

"Riddle me this loaded. Why is Judah focusing on Sifir so much?Did you tell her something about our clan? Your clan? That most powers can only assume? I love to hear your response, "Loaded, Murda, just stare at Loaded and Sayora with a slight killing intent leaking out.

"You? Hahaha! How dare you think you can question me or my clan on how we do our business? If the heavens declare it. You might get the answer from me. However, since the heavens haven't spoken. Those answers have a price. I will tell you this, Murda. Judah knows more than both of us. That mysterious figure is behind her. Certainly knows, and I doubt we will get those answers easily. " Loaded eyes shrunk like needles when he was finished speaking to Murda.

"Since we have understood where we are. I think it is time to take our leave."

"I agree, Glory. This small little meeting was enlightening."

"I am glad you were enlightened so much, Murda. Maybe next time we can entertain you. That you don't want to leave."

"Yes. The entrainment is something to die for for Glory and Murda. Since my love, Loaded has spoken. Why don't you stay here for a little while more?" A fierce look in Sayora eyes.

"Thank you. However, I insist that we do leave. I hope the entrainment is something that younger generations can participate in as well. Maybe even some old people like us can play too. Just think maybe some guests and old friends will join as well. That sounds even better." A smile creeped on Murda's face; however, his eyes were cold like ice.

"Maybe. For now, I do agree you should leave." Loaded said coolly.

"Thank you for your understanding, Patriarch Loaded." Murda wrapped his arm around Glory, and they both disappeared from where they were standing.

While Loaded and Sayora stayed sitting in their seats a little while longer before Loaded spoke. "We must make that legion and then bend them to our will. We can't not let a small pup wield all that power."

---

The City Lord was in shock when he saw a token of the Midnight clan. The City Lord knew that token was real because he had been to the Midnight Estate. From what the City Lord can tell, it was a high-ranking token as well. The city lord looked at his city guards, looking at them with menace. The City Lord would let this person kill a hundred worthless trash and not be bothered by this trouble he was looking at.

"May I know who I am speaking with?" The city lord clasps his hands together while greeting Sifir.

"My name is Fall Night. Under the command of patriarch Murda. Do you know why I killed that moron outside of your city?"

"Please enlighten me, sir."

"Greed."

Everyone stays silent. Only the City Lord really knew what this person was talking about. His power has been overreaching of late. His fate could be the same as that guard at the gate, and that might be the lightest of all the punishment.Unfortunately, for the City Lord, Sifir had no idea what he was thinking or caring. He just wanted to leave this city and continue on his mission.

"I can overlook the killing of one of my guards outside the city. What I can't overlook is that person named Jagged. He must die in my hands tonight!"

"I can't do that. Even if I were the leader of this group, I wouldn't allow that." Placing his hand on his chin. "Do you need something that most can't handle?"

The City Lord was surprised by this remark. He thought about it for a minute. "I do. Then, let us agree on this. I will allow you and your group to leave. In return to run an errand for me."

"Sound good. I can agree to do this. My only condition is if this errand threatens my life. I will not complete it, and I will not return to this city."

"Then so be it then. You will be banned from this city if you can't complete this. And if your friends come back to my city. I will kill them on site." The City Lord attitude was stubborn on this point.

"Agree. Explain to me in detail and what needs to be done. I will complete this task after our current mission is done."

"That is fine for now. Come this way to my desk, and I will give you a quick overview and what you need to do. Before that, allow those few people to go. And have them wait in the hall."

"Before, you let Jagged go. You can give him a few more lumps if you want. As long as you don't injure him or kill him. That should be fine, City Lord."

"Hahahahahaha! Fall Night, I like the way you think. One can't be cruel to oneself and be kind to thy enemies."
