Evily was thankful for the fact that the traffic police remained unbiased even when under the influence of the wealthy, she still dreaded the compensation that came next.
"Hey, pretty gal, Your name is Evily. Sounds angelic to me. Come and do a little dance or something. Entertain us!"
"Phil, I didn't know you have good taste."
"Hahaha!"
"Come over here, you."
Those men with Matthew were beginning to drag Evily towards themselves.
"Don't be so reserved! If you make him happy, your friend won't have to make any compensation! What a worthwhile deal, right?"
"Let go of me…"
By now, Evily was already in Matthew's arms. Her face was clear and her skin was as smooth as jade. Matthew was surprised at how petite her figure was.
"Your name's Evily, right? If you become mine, I assure you that you will get whatever you want for the rest of your life. Also, what happened just now will be a non-issue."
"Are you guys having fun?"
Everyone turned their gaze towards the direction of the voice.
Jeremy had both of his hands stuck in his pocket. He was dressed up pompously, and he lay on the doorframe with a cynical look on his face. It was as if he was waiting to spectate a spectacular show.
Other than Jeremy, there was another man. He was fully clad in black from top to bottom. His brooding yet sharp eyes darted to Matthew and the girl in his arms.
Evily froze up as uneasiness took over her body.
"Quite a lively scene in here, isn't it?"
Jeremy spoke with a hint of disdain in his voice.
Matthew had no idea why Jeremy showed up. Anyway, he felt even more threatened by the presence of the man in black behind Jeremy.
He noticed the man looking daggers at him and hurriedly released Evily.
Bruce walked to Evily's side, gently patted her on the shoulder and asked, "Are you alright?"
Evily paused briefly. Everyone else had their expression change simultaneously.
"Mr Hudson, you are…" Phil said to Bruce.
"I'm her boyfriend," Bruce responded. "Is my girlfriend bothering you?" Bruce asked calmly.
Matthew hurriedly explained out of trepidation, "Mr. Hudson, I have no idea. She didn't say anything."
"Oh! Really." Bruce said before conveniently holding her hand. He gave a last look before he dragged Evily.
Jeremy straightened his back. "Bruce is probably busy consoling someone now, but that doesn't mean he will let you off the hook. I say you better watch where you step next!"
After speaking his words, Jeremy left. Pft, these people are going to have a sleepless night!
-------
Evily picked up her pace and followed Bruce. She attempted to thank Bruce. "Thank you for saving me, Mr Hudson."
She quickly caught up with her and blocked him from going further.
"I said Thank you."
Bruce clenched Evily's dainty face tightly with his fingers and forced her to look into his dark, cold eyes.
"Why are you roaming around in so late at night? You looking for guys to pick you up?"
"That's enough!"
Evily howled in response to Bruce's derisive remark. She hitched a taxi back to her studio.
Back in her apartment, she explained that Bruce was her friend's uncle. Fortunately, Sasha believes it. Sasha was also thankful to Jeremy for helping her .
Evily hung up the call when her doorbell rang.
Through the peephole, she saw Bruce standing behind the door. She was not surprised at all at his arrival.
She stood there silently, refusing to open the door.
Just then, her phone rang. As soon as she answered the call, she heard the man commanding harshly, "Open the door!"
"Mr Hudson, it's late now, and I'm already in bed. If there's something you want to tell me, you can just say it over the phone."
Bruce writhed his lips and scoffed. "Young lady, you have taken my kindness for weakness!"
After ruffling her hair, she opened the door.
Bruce approached her. Feeling intimidated, she retreated a few steps backwards and accidentally tripped and fell onto the couch. She looked clumsy when she struggled with her limbs, trying to bring herself into a sitting position.
Bruce was amused. The anger on his face soon disappeared, replaced by a faint smile.
"What brings you here?" Evily asked after she was done adjusting herself.
The man was still looking at her teasingly, but she managed to force herself to calm down. Biting her lips, she looked up at him before saying in a soft voice, "Mr Hudson, it's inappropriate for you to come to my apartment so late at night. You…"
"How is it inappropriate?" He interrupted her.
"Well, you're my elder, and we shouldn't…"
Before she could finish her words, Bruce, her "elder", had come up to her.
He closed the distance between them, his suit showing off his slender figure, his fragrance—regardless of which kind—immensely alluring.
Evily shifted to the side subconsciously, but Bruce reached out and trapped her to the wall.
