Chapter 32 - Training as a Slime (30)

Although Cori had fully absorbed the pill, he was still in the process of consolidating his "Qi". During his "Qi" strengthening process in his meditative state, Cori's consciousness connected with the universe. During the connection, he saw the same golden star clouded by dust but closer. As his consciousness moved closer to observe the phenomenon, he felt another person's consciousness sharing the same universe. Out of curiosity, Cori asked, "Hi, who's there?" A constellation with red and white stars answered, "Hi, I'm Escargot. Who are you?" Before Cori could answer, he felt his consciousness pulled back into his body. His "Qi" now flowed smoother and his mind felt refreshed. But at the same time, he was amused that he had another chanced encounter with Escargot. A passing thought flashed through his mind, "Was this fate?"

Alice who already was monitoring Cori's progress, congratulated him on completing the absorption, "Master, your attack, agility, and stamina has increased! I knew you could do it! I believe you are ready to go to the training school now."

Cori replied gratefully knowing that Alice had been attentive and kind towards him, "Thank you Alice. Do you think I am ready now? What day is the school?" Alice bluntly answered, "Master, according to the current data, you are not officially ranked in the 100s. So I believe it might still be a bit challenging in the school. However, I believe you are ready to take on the world now." Despite all the encouragements, the truth was Alice did not really want Cori to leave, but she had yet come to comprehend this new emotion.

Cori felt a little satisfied with the reply, he had expected the result. Cramming was never his style. He believed that the only way to pass an exam was through repeated revision from the day one of school. But ever since he was here, he felt difficulty in scheduling revision and training. There were so many things he should be training but there was not enough information. For now, all he could do was to go with the flow. However... just in case, he kept his 900 skill points untouched in the event of an emergency. "So Alice when is the entrance exam?" Cori squealed thinking that Alice did not hear him the first time.

Alice replied, "Master, the entrance exam is in a few hours later. Time runs differently here. Is there anything you need?"

"A few hours!" Cori squeaked. Gathering his thoughts, he scanned the pill room, "Alice, is there anything from the pill room and alchemist lab that I could bring with me? And can I have a proper spatial bag? How can I get there in time?" Alice feeling like a professional "secretary" setup a holographic countdown timer. It replied, "Master, the system can drop you off anywhere on this world in a matter of seconds, so getting there will not be an issue. However, coming back here will be difficult... you can bring along the common pills and potions. If you are okay with it, I can pick some and pack them for you. Additionally, I can generate a spatial backpack for you, would you like to put your kitchen knives in it too?"

Cori felt a tinge of sadness, he had kind of grown fond of Alice. "Alice, please proceed. Is there anything that can keep us in touch or help me to come back here?" Alice felt comforted. "What is this warm fuzzy feeling?" It wondered. Alice replied with a slightly cheery and relieved tone, "Consider it done Master. I will prepare all that you need. By the way, what is your type?"

"My type? What does Alice mean? Is it talking about the kind of backpack I like?" Cori thought about what it said, "I like it light. Simple. Easy to carry and cool looking." Alice thought to itself, "So that's the type of 'secretary' he likes. Hmmm I guess I can do that." Cori wished he had the time to tour the rest of the place since it was very uncommon to stay in God's abode. He wondered if other monsters would think this place as heaven. Alice noted what Cori had said and conjured up a brown monogram backpack with the essential potions, pills, herbs, knives, gold leaf which did not belong to the house, some gems, and a sleek black rectangular device. "Master, here. Time to go." Alice said putting the backpack on Cori and transporting him to the entrance of the school.

The backpack was opposite of what he thought it would be. But it was light, he felt as long as the function was met it was good enough. Before he could react, Alice had already teleported him to the entrance. But the problem was, he was free falling from the clouds. As expected, an OS designed by the deity also had the same mentality as the deity. Luckily a large flying stork appeared under him and cushioned his fall while diminishing his competitors.

"Was that Alice's intention too?" Cori could not really tell anymore.
