R: Sylvia Werner.
L: Gran, Dad, Marcus.
~
Narration: Sylvia shut the door on Marcus face and walked back into the house. She sat down and began to eat the rest of her food hurriedly.
Gran: What is wrong with you, young lady? Have somewhere else to be?
Sylvia: Yes, I may have to leave early. A call came in.
Narration: She drops her cutleries and takes a huge sip off her coffee then stands.
Sylvia: See you in matters of hours.
Dad: Make sure that your boss brings you here before you go to eat dinner at his place.
Sylvia: Yes, Dad.
Narration: Sylvia stands up and after a quick glance at Ethan and a nod to her friends, she hugs her folks except Ethan and walks out of the dining room towards the front door. She opens the door and sees Marcus still standing in front of his car while waiting for her.
Sylvia: I am so sorry for what I did, please don't hold it.
Marcus: It's alright. It is not actually every day that someone tries to show their own superiority over me in their domain.
Sylvia: Didn't actually expect you to be standing outside in the sun. thought maybe you would be in the back seat of the car enjoying the AC.
Marcus: Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I am the one driving, now get in front.
Narration: Sylvia walks over to the other side of the car and gets into the front seat while Marcus slid beside her into the driver's seat.
Sylvia: I didn't realize that you actually knew how to drive. Well, not that you don't know but you have all these drivers so I didn't know that there are times you drive yourself.
Marcus: There are a lot of things you don't know about me.
Sylvia: So the driver of yesterday, I hope I wasn't the one who got him fired with my good actions towards him.
Marcus: Miss Sylvia, it is so offending that you actually think little of me. The driver in person was given the day off and not fired.
Narration: Marcus let out a soft chuckle and then started the car. Sylvia takes a look at her house as Marcus drives into the street.
[IN THE CAR]
Sylvia: So where are we going? You made it sound as if we were covering the entire New York.
Marcus: At first I thought that but we will only cover all the stores in this part of New York.
Sylvia: You've got to be kidding me, the matching shoes to every cloth that was purchased yesterday can be found in a single store, why go to all of them?
Marcus: You see, unlike yesterday, you won't be denying the quality of shoes or bags that I will be getting for you or even the makeup kit and cosmetics.
Sylvia: Sorry rich kid, but I am pretty sure that I can handle my cosmetics myself, though I do need a new brand of perfume but I can do that without your help.
Marcus: I wasn't offering any help to you, but I will be getting them anyway.
Sylvia: Seriously, I wonder how people actually put up with you, only God knows what they go through to make that happen.
Marcus: People don't put up with me, they adapt to my liking. You on the other hand are proving to be a hard nut to crack.
Sylvia: But you see, I am a stone who people think is a nut and waste their entire life trying to crack open.
Marcus: The first store.
Narration: The car turns into the parking lot of an accessories store. It parks and the duo step out of the car and walks into the store.
Narration: After four hours, the duo had visited nine stores and where on their way to another one.
Sylvia: Can't we make a quick stop for lunch?
Marcus: I thought you had breakfast before you left the house?
Sylvia: It is not much of a breakfast if you rushing in order to meet up with a boss that seems to take fun out of dragging his employee through the entire city against her own wish.
Marcus: I really do see what you are fussing about, most ladies would be crawling around me for this type of opportunity.
Sylvia: As you can clearly see, I am not most ladies and I most definitely won't be crawling around you just because you decide to carry me around New York to get what can be found in a store close to my place.
Marcus: Okay, if you see any eatery nearby, you informing me and I will stop for you go get your hand soiled with food.
Sylvia: There is one few less than a kilometer ahead.
Marcus: And you know that because?
Sylvia: This is close to Katy's house. We usually go there sometimes.
Marcus: So you are telling me to take you to a place where you would flirt a little with the person behind the counter?
Sylvia: And you are beginning to sound like my idiotic brother.
Marcus: If I didn't know better, I would have said that you are actually referring to me as an idiot.
Sylvia: Well, do you?
Marcus: Do I what?
Sylvia: Know better?
Narration: Marcus smirked and shook his head. He turned the car into the eatery and parked the car in the parking lot.
Marcus: You better hurry up and don't keep me waiting.
Sylvia: You are not coming?
Marcus: Why? You want me to pay for your meal again?
Sylvia: You are more delusional that Ethan, only God knows how I ended up with you as a boss.
Marcus: Fate perhaps.
Sylvia: Screw fate.
Narration: Sylvia walked into the eatery and walked out minutes later with a polythene bag. She climbed into the car and placed the bag beside Marcus.
Marcus: What is that for?
Sylvia: Well, you didn't come inside and you are obviously hungry so I decided to get for you a burger since maybe you are not in the mood for a full meal.
Marcus: Hmm, and I thought that you didn't care.
Sylvia: I don't, I just don't like going out with someone and helping myself to something while the person doesn't take part; food or not. Now, you can drive. We still have a number of stores to go to.
Narration: Marcus smiled and started the car then he drove the car out of the eatery into the road.
