Krystal peeped through the kitchen door at all the eyes that would be watching her perform. Although she was a professional, she had never played in front of so many people.
"Are you nervous?" Carly asked and Krystal nodded.
"Kind of." Krystal said.
"I assure you, when you start playing, you'll be too shocked to be nervous." Carly stated and it got Krystal confused.
"Wha...what does that mean?" She asked.
"No time, you're up!" Carly pushed her out to the clapping ovation.
Krystal wore the same dress she wore when she left Britain. She said it'd come in handy one day and it really did. She felt nervous because she was going to play hut if it was to simply talk, she'd never feel an inch of anxiety. Being a Queen wasn't a breeze you know.
Krystal sat on the stool in front of the piano ready to play when a figure suddenly walked towards her direction wearing black tux and in his hands a violin. Krystal stared, mouth opened at whom she saw.
"Open it for one more second and I swear, a fly's gonna get in." Justin said and Krystal shut her mouth. So this was what Carly meant by her words: she'd be too shocked to be nervous. "Start and I'll follow your lead." He said and she nodded.
Krystal started playing and Justin got the origin, so he played his violin according to the piece. He was skilled and almost a professional but Krystal was more skilled. Her fingers danced gracefully on the keys of the piano and she let her eyes close, letting the melody overpower her.
In no time, the piece ended and she got up, walked towards Justin and they both bowed at the crowd. The people cheered nonstop. It was really a good mixup.
"You played really well, I'll give you that." Justin complimented.
"Thank you but I don't think I played as good as you." She said with a flattery tongue and he snickered. They were already off the stage.
"True." He said.
"By the way, how come you played? I mean, you said you'd be working as a waiter." She recollected but he shook his head.
"No, I said I'd be filling your space while you perform and that's what I did, isn't it?" He grinned victoriously and she accepted it. "Besides, if I didn't play with you, you'd mess up because you were nervous." He accused.
"No, I wouldn't." She protested.
"Yes, you would." He insisted.
"Oh, you, my friend, are one heck of a guy."
"Though I'm not your friend, I'll clearly say that you don't know me at all, Miss glasses."
"Then tell me all about you, pretty boy." She requested with a coy smile. Not exactly what he thought of but it was still contrary. He shook his head.
"Forget it." With that he walked away while she giggled.
The whole crew including Todd, the new employee, celebrated their success. They ate out at a restaurant. Mr Quaid treated them, so they had no worries of paying.
Just then, while they were still eating and drinking, the news came up concerning Britain.
"It has just been said that the crown princess of Britain, Astin Von Luggard, ran away from home." Hearing this, Krystal choked on her food, attracting everyone's attention. Quinella quickly gave her water.
"I'm okay!" Krystal announced and they all looked at the news.
"The king, Astin's grandfather, has issued a reward money of $5000000 to anyone who can bring back his granddaughter." Hearing this, Krystal spat out the water in her mouth.
"Has he gone mad?!" She exclaimed and didn't realize that all eyes were on her. "Oopsi, sorry." She apologized. 'I let it slip.'
No one knew what was with Krystal's sudden behavior and didn't have a clue to why she'd ask if the king had gone mad. Felix got up accompanied with Quinella.
"I think it's best we leave." Felix said and Quinella nodded.
"Come on, Krystal. Let's go before it gets too late to take a cab." Quinella's tone was filled with anxiety. She was anxious and Krystal stood up groggily without saying a word.
Once they had gotten home, she quickly put on the TV and heard all that the reporter had to say and turned it off. She slumped on the sofa.
"What is wrong with him? Why would he want to pay a reward of five million dollars to whoever finds me? I said I was going out to explore, didn't I?" She asked no one in particular.
"Krystal, why are you so worried?" Quinella asked.
"It's not like they can actually find you with this getup. Your appearance has completely changed, who's going to recognize you as the crown princess of Britain?" Felix asked and Krystal scoffed.
"You guys aren't seeing the picture. They'd trace my steps and wind up at the salon. The city has cameras for crying out loud! I'll either get kidnapped and handed over to Britain or worse, they'd find a lookalike." She stated the facts plainly.
"You know they can't find a lookalike to replace you." Felix pointed out.
"I know but still...I'm worried." Krystal said shoving her fingers through her hair. "I don't want them to come over and ruin my normal life as it is."
"We just have to be careful and make sure not to come across any foreigners from Britain. It's safe that way." Felix warned and she nodded.
"Yeah, you're right." Krystal yawned. "All this worry is making me sleepy. I'll leave first." She headed for her room and slopped on the bed. She looked up at the ceiling before her eyes slowly closed. She didn't bother to take off her clothes and slept like that.
