Chapter 6 - Ixora is around

It had been almost a week now since the tuner brought down her walls, it was a Saturday morning and the town was even busier, it was silver market day, a day which occurs once every two months, it was the day visitors from other towns and country visited the town, many things were going to be sold out that day and the towns men had set their stands, many came for the melodious songs of the Tuner, while some came as tourists, over the years the tower had become a tourist attraction and the town had made it a source of finance. At the tower, Turlip was sitting on the first step of the stairs with her back leaning on the wall as she watched the Tuner struggle to stand, she smiled on every fall the Tuner made, she checked the girl's leg just that morning and she discovered how smooth and soft it was, like a baby's, it would be really hard to walk or stand with that and she believed all the generations of tuners where like that, she decided to let her be and focused on surfing through her phone, while the Tuner on the other hand didn't believe she wouldn't be able to walk like Turlip she wasn't willing to give up, she picked her self up immediately after every fall, just then Turlip's phone beeped to indicate a new message and she opened it, it was her sister, an excited smile walked itself to her face as she read the message "hi sis, I am in the palace, hope you would be back soon" was the content of the message, she stood her self up and patted the tuner "I need progress in few days" she said and flung her hoodie to cover her head then strolled out. She walked into the palace and strolled straight to her sister's room but the girl was out of sight she could already guess where the girl was and her face darkened, she grimly walked to the room across the hall and as soon as she walked in a little boy with nestled gold coloured hair ran to hug her and immediately her expression switched into a bright one "how are you Roland, have you been good?" she asked and the little child nodded positively with a happy smile then she handed him the chocolate bar she bought on her way to the palace and his smile immediately turned radiant "go freshen up" she told him and he ran off, "wow sis, you are really good at taming children" a thin voice exclaimed and Turlip turned with a happy smile "how are you sis, long time no see" Turlip said as she pulled the brown eyed girl in front of her into a affectionate hug, "should I give Roland to you sis, he looks more gentle around you" Ixora joked and the figure who had been so busy with her makeup chuckled then made a dissappointed sigh "Ixora your sister is such a shame if she had gotten married and had her own child I would have had two little kids running around the palace now" the queen said and Turlip's smile disappeared, "so that was why you took things from that Agatha's slave so he could lay with me" Turlip said with her voice devoid of any warmth "watch what you say Turlip, that musn't get out else Agatha won't spare you" the queen said and Turlip's expression darkened "you knew he was Agatha's slave and you did that, what if had indeed layed with me and Agatha got to know of it, I might have been dead by now and you would do nothing than enjoy the wealth you got from my death" Turlip yelled and the queen stood up in anger "don't you dare yell at me, I meant well for you, I wanted you to carry his child, he could hidden you in a great place where you wouldn't worry about life, where you would enjoy to the fullest, where you would live just the way you like and Agatha would never know, that was my plan for you but you destroyed it" the queen yelled and Turlip laughed mockingly, she was mocking her self for the kind of mother she had "that was such a great plan, a plan that any stupid person would support, I regret that you were ever my mother" Turlip said and strolled out of the room then slammed the door behind her "stupid, foolish, ungrateful that is what you are Turlip, I also wish you weren't my daughter, I wish I had a more sensible daughter who would appreciate all my relentless effort to make her big" the queen yelled as she trembled in anger and Ixora patted her back soothingly " it's okay mum, you shouldn't be angered by my sister, I am still here for you" she said and the queen sighed "give me some space Ixora" she said and Ixora said no more, she picked her purse and strolled out to the room down the hall, slowly she opened the door and peeked inside "are you okay sis" she asked but there was no reply from the figure who was sitting by the window and she let her self in "you are getting better at making that woman believe you are the best daughter she ever had" Turlip said as she turned to face Ixora who had sitted herself "it seems you were eavesdropping on our conversation" Ixora said and Laughed "you know that woman won't stop trying to use us for her personal gain, it's only good to keep playing her, sometimes I wonder how her face would look if she discovered Roland isn't that old man's son but Frederick whom she wouldn't stop bringing down and the old man is locked up in a place of no return, I only pity my Frederick, it's been hard on him this days he has to manage his company and still manage the one I obtained from that old man" Ixora said as she walked to the pack of tea on the shelf "he wouldn't complain if he does love you like he claims" Turlip said "he isn't complaining, I just feel pity for him" Ixora muttered and Turlip sighed, she gulped the remaining water in the bottle beside her and fixed her gaze on Ixora "what?, just say whatever you want to say and stop looking at me like you want to devour me" Ixora muttered "I want to take the tuner out" Turlip suddenly declared and Ixora choked on the tea she just drank "what!, Are you serious, why would you think of that" she yelled as she walked to Turlip's side "I want to stop the tradition" Turlip muttered simply and Ixora walked forward to feel her temperature " you aren't sick so what is pushing you to this silly idea, a tradition that had began centuries ago and you want to stop it like a child's play, I know your way of life is not as simple as it looks on the surface but please give up the idea" Ixora said "I have made up my mind and I have drawn my map, I would do this so your only choice is to join me or not" Turlip said and the room became silent "fine, I would join you but I still stick to my wish not to do this" Ixora said and Turlip patted her shoulder "your job is simple you just have to convince that mother of yours to let me follow you to New York in two months time" Turlip said and Ixora sighed, "I wish you gave me nothing to do" she said, suddenly Turlip grabbed a gun from her drawer and walked to the door, she made 'keep quiet' sign to Ixora who had an ugly frown on her face and slowly opened the door.
