Chapter 9 - Tuner is missing

The night was cool, many had gone to sleep with hope in their hearts that the tuner was really fine, while at the palace, in the Kings room, the queen was massaging her husband's back as she whisteled a hymn to keep him relaxed, "darling, don't you think you should address this matter, it's so strange that the didn't even sing a song since sunrise, you know if something should happen to the tuner, there would no longer be tourists coming here and paying money to examine the tower and to listen to the history of the tuner then there would be no money for us to gobble" the queen muttered and the king pulled her into bed, "don't panick my dear, nothing would happen to the tuner, she is securely locked in that tower, there is no way something would have happened to her, and that means the only explanation to her silence is that she is sick so my dear there would be surplus money for us to gobble" the king said and the queen put her head on his chest, "but I am worried" she said and he smiled "to show you how sure I am, I would buy you that Louis Vuitton bag you had always wanted" he declared and she raised her head in shock "really?" She cried and he nodded then she gave him a long kiss to show appreciation, "thanks darling" she muttered and he sighed"women are so easy to please" he said and she smiled with her imagination of how other noble women would look if they saw her with the bag.

The sun was hot, and many were dripping with sweat only those with fans were spared, iced cream vendors didn't dare go out in the sun but they were selling slot, within thirty minutes cold chilled water turned blazing hot and iced stuffs melted like jokes, it was the second day that the tuner hasn't sang and the people were getting filled with panick, they all feared that the gods were angry about the tuner not singing that was why the sun was so hot, people gathered themselves in the palace as they awaited the king's words on how to handle the problem, the chiefs were sitted as well all waiting for the king's words, " your highness, the tuner hasn't sang for a day and half now and I think this is a matter that needs to be taken seriously" Mr Benard said and the chiefs nodded in agreement, "we all know it's forbidden to see the tuner until they are age forty when they get beheaded in front of the town's folks, if we all go now to check on the tuner won't we be angering the gods more" the king said and a full white haired man stood up " we also know the first princess is allowed to see the tuner, your highness please summon the first princess the town needs her help" the man said and the others supported his words, the king sighed in his head then ordered the maid by his side to get him Turlip, minutes passed and Turlip finally walked downstairs with her usual cold expression but she was smiling brightly inside, she offered greetings to everyone around and stood straight "I heard I was asked to check on the tuner" she said and the chiefs nodded, she bowed to the people once again and picked her umbrella then strolled out in the direction of the tower, people were following behind her mumbling prayers that their tuner should be fine, only if they knew something had already happened, finally they got to the tower and Turlip walked in, it wasn't up to a minute and she suddenly screamed "the tuner isn't here" she cried and the people ran up into the tower, they all saw the fallen walls and they immediately came to a conclusion that the tuner got kidnapped, they all didn't care about the awkward structure of the place the lived they only cared about where the tuner had gone, the people immediately sent reports, "that isn't possible, who could have been so daring to kidnap our tuner" the king raored "don't let anybody leave this village without getting searched, check all the hotels around here, send letters to neighbouring towns with a warning that if any of them have our tuner they should return her back immediately" the king commanded and the men went to work, Turlip couldn't help but laugh in her head, she picked her umbrella and strolled to her house.
