"Ha ha." Heidith laughed angrily. "Very funny."
"What's wrong?" Dennis looked at him confusingly.
Heidith glared at him like an angry tiger as his smile disappeared.
"You said you are a virtue boy. But here you are, plotting against me to destroy my virginity."
"..."
'Boss, what?' Dennis speechlessly kept looking at him without blinking, his lips slightly parting.
Even the blonde girl felt uncomfortable. She clenched her hands nervously, not knowing what to do.
Heidith didn't pay heed to their strange behaviour. Maybe because of the effect of alcohol, he kept talking.
"And you seem like a good friend of my future wife." There was a hidden mockery in his voice. "You even call her ZADIE." He said the word Zadie with difficulty as if he was swallowing a pin.
Zadhea wasn't over with the news of him being a Virgin. As Evelyn told her before, the prince was a playboy until he met the love of his life, Dreva. But now... He was saying he was a freaking Virgin?!
How can she believe such a thing? But, he didn't need to lie to her. He didn't have to. Boys considered themselves as big shots depending on the amount of girls they got. The more the better.
When she heard his voice which was somehow sounded jealous, she was again dumbfounded.
What was he up to? Did he like her? No, no. Even if he didn't, still... she was his nominal fiancée. When another male declared to have a relationship with her even if it was as a friend, how could he not get upset? It was about his man's pride, right?
Whatever...
"She insisted!" Zadhea shamelessly cried like a child who felt wronged. Even she herself realized how shameless she was. Her small face blushed instantly.
Seeing the young man's blushing face, Heidith could guess more or less.
"You have a crush on her." His words sounded more like a sentence than a question as if he had already come to a conclusion.
"If I have, will you give her to me?" Zadhea was serious this time. She knew with this question, she could have a brief idea of how much he liked her... Perhaps, he didn't like her at all...
Let's see.
Heidith was about to reply her when he noticed something strange. He squinted his emerald like eyes. They suddenly lit up as his lips curved into a smile, his cunning brain already making a plan.
"I must say... I'm more than that." His nonsensical sentence caught her off guard.
"What did you mean?"
"Come with me." He reached out his palm. "I have a secret. There are so many people here. I can only share it if we go to an isolated place, are you okay with that?" He tried hard to hide the enthusiasm in his voice. He wasn't an actor hence, he might ruin the play.
"Wait," Dennis blurted out which made certain someone's face turn a little gloomy. Damn! Did he suspect something?
"We just met, dude. How can you trust me easily?" Sure, he did.
"But something in my heart says I must believe you, my dear companion." Heidith himself felt how lame and cheesy his words were. If he was the one who was the listener and not the speaker, he would definitely spit out a mouthful of blood.
Just how ridiculous his words were.
"Okay," Dennis agreed with uncertainty.
Zadhea felt like something was fishy when she saw his change of attitude, but since she was so curious to know his secret, she put aside her doubts and decided to follow suit.
"But wait a sec!" She exclaimed.
Heidith restrained himself from letting out a sigh. This young man was indeed difficult to handle. He didn't know how to convince him anymore.
However, Dennis's next words made him dumbstruck.
"I want a massage first. Since you paid her already, at least let me take the profit. I hope you won't feel angry, buddy," Dennis winked at him before hooking his finger towards the blonde girl, motioning her to come close.
"Beauty, cure this brother's sore shoulders." In a relaxed manner, Dennis spread his hands. His left hand accidentally touched Heidith's shoulder.
Heidith pushed himself a little away from him silently.
Closing his eyes, Dennis enjoyed being massaged by the blonde beauty.
"You are perfect, your beauty and talents are beyond my expectations." His flirtious words made the girl blush. She professionally rubbed his shoulders more excitedly.
Heidith patiently sat beside them, feeling like being a third party. It was uncomfortable but he didn't have a choice.
"Mmm..." The next thing he knew, he heard something like a moan from the man next to him!?
Heidith: "..." 'How come a shoulder massage arouses him?'
Dennis looked at him innocently. "It's not me, look, that's the couple next to us." He quickly pointed out the culprits, his face blushing like a tomato. What a shame!
Sure enough, the couple next to them were making out!
"I didn't say it's y..." Heidith's words stuck in his throat when he saw a familiar scar on the young man's wrist.
It looked similar to the scar on his waist. His scar was weird. It happened during a sword fight and the speciality of his scar was it looked like a piece of art instead of an ugly scar. It looked like a half crescent. As for how, he didn't have an idea.
How come this dude had a scar almost identical to his?
If he remembered something correctly...
Heidith's lips curved into a smile.
Before Zadhea could react, she was already pulled out of the banquet by the prince. At the main door, they unexpectedly met King Edwin.
A chill ran down Zadhea's spine. Will he recognize her? Although Evelyn's make up skills were good, she was still doubtful and extremely careful.
"Greetings to your majesty, why are you here? Aren't you enjoying the party?" Maybe because of alcohol, Heidith this time, was a bit friendly and easygoing.
King Edwin sighed. "Never. I would never. If it's not because of the traditions, I would never throw such parties," He answered truthfully. "I can't change the customs."
King Edwin loved his wife. He was more than satisfied with her. He really didn't need another women to entertain himself.
King Foneth was the same. He respectfully refused King Edwin's invitation and went to a guest chamber to take a rest.
However, king Edwin couldn't do the same. He was the host, hence his attendance was compulsory.
As for Heidith, he naturally agreed not because the party was meant for him, he was just bored. Plus, he neither had to soothe his fiancée nor worry about hurting her feelings. She didn't have respect towards him and even humiliated him. Why would he care about her? Moreover, she should accept the custom of her own country.
Maybe she was sound asleep right now, without caring about anything.
Heidith looked at the youth, standing next to him meekly.
Maybe...
After the conversation with the king was over, Heidith cheerfully dragged Dennis towards the royal gardens.
The lad was so quiet for a long time.
"Why are you silent? You didn't even talk with the king."
Heidith's out-of-nowhere voice made Zadhea break out of her reverie.
Flinching, she, in her female voice, yelled, "Aaaah, you scared me!!!"
