Chapter 20 - A misunderstanding

Next day morning...

Tuk

Tuk

Tuk

There was a faint knock on the door to prince Heidith's chamber.

He frowned slightly and sat up on the edge of the bed before pulling apart the curtains near his bed. Judging from the sky, he could see that it was still dark and it might be four in the morning.

So early!

Who wanted to trouble him at such an hour?

Fearing that the girl next to him might wake up because of the noise, he quickly approached the door and opened it only to see Suzamine, one of his shadow knights.

"What's up?" His voice screamed displeasure.

Suzamine gulped nervously as his eyes fell on the girl lying on the bed, sleeping without a sound. It seemed like what Iven told them was true. The prince really slept with his fiancée. Not that it was wrong, but he was surprised because he knew the prince's character very well.

Yeah, he knew Heidith didn't 'SLEEP' sleep with her but sharing the same bed for a night was already a huge thing. Luckily, there was no one around to spread unnecessary rumours.

"Greetings to your..."

"Skip the greetings and directly enter the topic." The prince was impatient. He slowly closed the door and started walking outside along with the knight, talking.

"Sure. It's about the queen."

"My mother?"

"Yes..."

"What happened to her?" Heidith narrowed his eyes dangerously.

Suzamine almost trembled in fear. In this world, he wasn't afraid of anything except the Rodwef prince's glare. It was like a direct call from hell. He appeared as the devil himself.

"Nothing serious, sire. A messenger dove from Rodwef palace conveyed a message to his majesty saying that the queen was fainted in the middle of the night and when the physician examined her, she found out... She found out..."

Suzamine stuttered for the first time. Although he was afraid of the devilish prince, he never stammered in front of him like that, no matter what.

Heidith furrowed his brows. Seemed like it wasn't a simple thing.

"Idiot, just spit it out already!" He yelled at him, agitated. There was a bad feeling bubbling in his heart. He couldn't help but lost it.

"Her highness is pregnant. The wizard, Ocaris the great, said that it's a boy. He even described his appearance. He will look like the queen in the future."

The first born child looked like King Foneth. He was naturally proud about it however he loved his wife so much that he anticipated a child that looked like her. When he realized his expectations wouldn't come true, he accepted it half-heartedly.

But now...

Seemed like his hopes succeeded.

Heidith suddenly became silent.

He was having a novel feeling.

A sibling eighteen years younger than him... It sounded so weird to him.

After a period of silence, he finally spoke up. "Good."

Suzamine raised his eyebrows, stunned. "Just good?"

"What else?" Heidith actually felt a little headache knowing that he might have to be a second parent to his so much young sibling. What if he behaved like a rebellious little brat? Ugh! He may get scolded from his parents because of his brother...

No, no. He must educate his brother well. That way, he might be able to avoid future troubles. Shoot, he forgot something very important. A name for his little brother!

A smile spread across his face.

Suzamine scratched the back of his neck. "That..."

"Mmm?"

"His majesty decided to go back right away. He has already informed King Edwin. Now, his majesty expects you to come to the harbour soon."

"Really? Dad is so impatient to meet his wife and son, heh heh." Heidith felt a little jealous. Would they treat him less in the future? Queen Ezra loved him too much. But now... Her motherly love would be devided into two halves.

Heidith let out a soft sigh and shook his head.

Suzamine became speechless at the Prince's childish behaviour. He silently looked at the trees in the royal garden. 'Wow, how tall and green! Beautiful trees.'

"But I won't go. I have some business to do before returning. Keep it as a secret from Edwin royal family for the time being. As for father, he will understand."

"But how?!" Suzamine unconsciously blurted out.

Heidith looked around before leaning towards him, whispering something in his ears.

Suzamine's eyes lit up.

"Oh I see." He gave him a playful smile.

Heidith was indifferent. He simply said, "I'm counting on you." Suddenly his voice changed. "Aah, I almost forgot! Ask Iven and Gronald to come with me. As for you... You can go back with my father. Remember to protect him well."

Suzamine was of course unhappy.

"So unfair! So unfair! His majesty has so many people to protect him. Plus, it's my duty to protect you and only you! Let me come with you, please! Please, sire, please~"

Heidith snorted coldly. "I won't repeat myself."

'Nasty rascal!' Suzamine cursed him in his mind.

"Maybe... Yeah. You can come..." In the end, Heidith changed his mind.

"Yeah! Hooray!!!" Suzamine almost jumped up in excitement before rushing to the stable to grab his horse. Heidith followed him since he also needed to get his horse.

Heidith had a black horse given to him by his master at the age of ten. Heidith named him 'Darcel' which meant 'dark.'

He stroked Darcel's jaw and said, "Today we have to go on a long journey. Are you ready?"

Darcel breathed on his palm, showing his eagerness.

"Ha ha, good boy!"

Zadhea fluttered her eyelashes, slowly waking up. She felt unfamiliar with the surroundings. Alerted, she sat up in the speed of an arrow before climbing down the bed.

She looked around and confirmed that it wasn't her room.

Anxiously, she searched for her sword and she could find it along with her clothes on a sofa near the window.

As for her clothes, they were the ones she used to dress as a man.

Zadhea was stunned. She looked down to see herself wearing a pink nightgown.

It was very thin but it covered what should be covered.

The moment Zadhea left the room, she happened to bump into a maid.

"Hey, listen." She hesitated and asked, "Whose chamber is this?"

Zadhea had a faint guess in her heart. She hoped that her guess would be wrong.

Shira clenched her fists secretly when she heard her question. Her eyes sparkled in malice.

She spent the night hiding near the prince's chamber. Nevertheless, Iven found out and inquired her purpose. At that time, she lied without blinking, saying that she would spend the night next to prince's chamber so that she could help the princess in case her situation became bad. To her relief, Iven believed her.

She didn't sleep the whole night. She couldn't bear to sleep. She was afraid that... They might do something ambiguous. Thinking about it made her heart break into pieces.

Gladly, until the next day, nothing happened.

Shira hid when she saw Heidith going out with his knight, immersed in a conversation. As for what they were talking about, she didn't care. Her target was the princess and... She waited patiently for her to come out.

As for their encounter, it wasn't a coincidence at all.

Pretending to be shy, she said, "It's his highness prince Heidith's chamber, your grace. Yesterday... Your grace spent the night with him."

Zadhea pressed her lips together so tightly that they became pale. Her chest rose up and down rapidly.

Humph! Who was a virgin?

He was nothing but a big fat liar, a bastard!

As expected from a player!

He could even do it at such a state!

How disgusting!

Didn't he feel gross?

Zadhea despised his behaviour too much that she felt like dying due to fury. No need to bother to become a villain, her anger alone might help her to return to the original world!

Zadhea felt like she has become too naive.

She actually believed 'A PLAYBOY's nonsense and even thought that he might be a gentleman.

How stupid?!

Clutching her sword, she ran out.

'Stinky bastard, today I really am going to kill you!!!'
