"Hello, little one." I greeted the little beastkin with a weak smile.
Much to my surprise, the little beastkin ran towards me with an even greater smile.
As if beckoned, I knelt down and found myself a tad bit amused and confused. As soon as I knelt, the little beastkin crashed against my chest and wrapped her arms around me.
She was... happy to see me.
"How have you been?" I asked, hoping for an answer.
"I missed you." She said meekly.
Hearing this, my heart ached and I found myself pestered by guilt and shame. Indeed, I had left her to play and explore to her heart's content, but in doing so left her alone.
There was only so much a golem of war and a golem of labor could do. After all, they were not 'people' in the sense of wisdom and emotion.
Yet. I supposed.
"I'm sorry," I apologized as I hugged her back, "I just don't want you to see scary things."
The beastkin looked at me and pouted, "Am brave!"
