On the night of the 17th of January, the very same night Quinn received a call from the Sea. In a place faraway, known as Kestell. Where royalties look down upon those who aren't royals, where the rich look down on the poor. And where the strong bully the weak, there was a boy named Patiel.
Patiel was 16 years and tall, 6'5" with red-sunset hair that was messy. With torn clothing, and was crying on the street. A man wearing all black clothes suddenly appeared in front of Patiel. "What's the matter young man, why are you crying?" Patiel looked up while sobbing and saw that it's his first time seeing this man. He found it in his heart to speak to this man, even though that's not what he usually does with people.
"My father left us when I wasn't even born, actually no…he raped my mother and I was formed. He is a rich noble guy, who was just preying on the poor souls. Then…" Patiel didn't finish his sentence because his eyes got watery and droplets began flowing like a river after a thunderstorm.
"Don't you worry child, you can confide in me. Come on, let's go to my house and give you a hot shower. And after that you can eat then sleep, we'll talk when you're ready." Patiel's eyes lit up, he couldn't remember the last time he had a shower/bath, and the last time he ever ate a decent meal.
They walked up until reaching the gate to a huge mansion, owned by the man. On the gate, there existed a board written "Phenex Resident". Patiel asked, "Mister, is this were you reside?" The gentleman man laughed joyfully, "Ohh yes young man, this is your home from now on." Patiel wanted to stop himself from crying, but he couldn't. "Thank you so much mister, one day I'll be rich enough to repay your kindness."
"Hahahaha, you're breaking me up kid. You can repay me now…" Patiel was perplexed, he thought it would take at least some time before this man can ask for something. When they got inside the house, the man said, "Repay me by not crying anymore, the world is a dark place. And crying only increases the chances of people taking you on and turning you into their charity case. Now tell me young man, can you do that for me?"
Patiel figured that this man was not asking for much, and this was an easy thing to do. So he agreed with no hesitation, "Now go and take a shower, I'll fix you a nice meal". Patiel went on and had a shower, changed his clothes and came down the stairs for a meal. When he was arrived near the table, the man spoke. "Look at you, a handsome young man. Sit down and let's share a meal."
Patiel did as he was told, "Mister, if I may ask…what is your name? And what's your plan for me?" The man didn't hesitate, "My name is Russell Phenex, and what is yours?" Patiel was quite amused by this man, he didn't hesitate revealing his identity to him and so he'll do the same. "My name is Patiel Ambael, nice to meet you Mr. Phenex".
While eating, Russell decide to ask Patiel some questions. "So Patiel, tell me more about you". Patiel was baffled, this question came out of nowhere. 'Well, since this man has shown me kindness, I guess telling him won't hurt but it'd rather heal', "Well, my father is a nobleman of the house Silva. He raped my mom, and recently he found out that I am still alive. He sent people to erase my whole family, I was fast but my mother was not."
Russell could hear a concentrated amount of coldness in his voice, "Because we're poor, nobody believes us. So I've been living on the street in fear of being killed if I go home. And I think that's about it, Kestell isn't as it's name states. This is a castle for the rich and powerful." Russell looked to be lost in his thoughts, and suddenly he whispered to Patiel a question that could change his whole life entirely. "How would you like to punish the world for doing this to you?"

Quinn was at school, but he didn't feel at ease as he always did at school. 'I sense anger and depression in a lot of people in this school, what might be the cause of this?' Quinn was living in Midnight Summers, which was closer to the coast. But was going to school in Kestell, so he had no idea of the events that are taking place in that area. Well, since he has accepted to be the Light "Bearer" Bringer, sensing people's moods and emotions came naturally to him.
And people loved staying close to him, because they feel at ease around him. His new friend ran towards Quinn, when he arrived he was worried. "Bro, do you remember that chick I was telling you about?" Quinn didn't really pay attention to gossip, so the name slipped him. "Tom, are you talking about Lisa?" Tom was shocked, "No you imbecile, I'm talking about Vanessa, you know…thee Vanessa Silva. I know Lisa is good looking, but she's a shadow when she's compared to Vanessa."
"Tom, I don't really think you'd call me all the way from the door just to tell me how hot a girl is, correct?" Tom felt helpless, how did his friend end up loved by girls, he has no sense of fun. "Well no, her whole family was slaughtered last night. When people ask her, she didn't see anything. She said only darkness flashed before her eyes, and when it disappeared…the walls were painted red."
"And today she didn't even come to school, some people are already saying that she killed her family. How else would you explain a slaughter with only one survivor? Plus…" Quinn raised his hand, "Shush Tom, rumours are just rumours. The story will be much more interesting if I hear it from Vanessa's mouth."
Tom laughed, "Dude, she doesn't really like you. And you with a girl like that…absolutely no way." Quinn only looked at his friend and chuckled before leaving. Tom wanted to drag along, but the bell rang before he could even get out of the door.
There was a visible light jumping from roof to roof, but it's only visible if one would pay attention to it. If not, it just looked like an aeroplane over accelerating in the skies far away. It was Quinn, he had trained so hard that now he was able to use some of his abilities offered by Lightness. He arrived near a house that looked very beautiful on the outside, painted in unstained white with a golden door. Quinn knocked on the door three times.
Vanessa hearing someone knocking wanted to ignore it, but due to the fact that it was Quinn and Light's influence spreads very fast…she unconsciously opened the door. To her surprised, it was someone she talks to the least. "Lady Killer, what are you doing here?" Quinn was baffled hearing the nickname he has but had no idea of it's existence, he found it insulting. But since Vanessa is in mourning, he paid it no mind. "I just came to check up on you, are you alright? And may I please come in."
Vanessa couldn't resist him, so she let him in. 'This feeling, it is total darkness. It's like sucking up on every inch of light, it acts as a black hole but in the same time it is not. What brought such a dreadful scent here?' "Quinn, I know you're probably thinking I'm the one who killed my family, but I did not. I loved them, more than I value my own life. When I woke up, my clothes were stained with blood. They had holes in them, but I had no scratches. Is it possible that I wasn't attacked?"
'So she was attacked and possibly died, but there is absolutely no scratch on her. Intriguing' That was the only thought in Quinn's mind, he smiled. "Vanessa, do you seriously think I would be here if I believed you killed your parents? Let me share with you some light, come here and give me a hug". Vanessa was almost hesitant with Quinn's request, 'Does he really think taking advantage of me in this situation will improve how I perceive him? But he doesn't look like a bad guy to me, and I can't explain this…but I can't seem to be able resist him.'

In an alleyway, Patiel was panting heavily. His clothes were almost fully red with blood…and only one thing was ringing in his head, 'KILL!'
