Standing in the middle of the field, I was dressed in a red outfit, it was a uniform with a high level of magic resistance, something that was chosen for my squad.
Basically contained,
Me of course, Aether Vermont
Ruxian Hutchbrick.
Ava Richardson
Orland Relvado.
And lastly, another weirdo who just recently joined the party.
From what I heard rhrnwwsnññ
Well according to the school authorities, each class has a total of five teams, meaning other than the squad I'm currently in, there are five other squads fighting alongside us.
Every class has five squads, and I don't really know what the price is for the winner other than the ranks, but I heard the winner gets to be an honor student or something like that, either way I really don't care.
I just want to do this to get my father off my back, he seems way too obsessed with the family name, I don't want it to reach the stage where he starts sending people to look after me.
Which I still find strange considering normally I don't tend to care about people like him.
"Students!" Yelled the professor, trying to be slick or something.
"Today marks the first day of your training for the Dagione tournament, it's not going to be easy, but I'll be sure my class, if anything, wins and takes us up the status".
As he kept smittening the students with his words and obviously most of them fell for it, I on the other hand was busy watching a student who happened to pique my interest.
She was in class A, and since she was in a different class, she was relatively far away from me, but could still see her.
Unlike the rest, she seemed to shine brighter and more boldly, so bright it could blind a normal person in its brilliance, ahh, now I know why.
She's just like Ava, I guess in a way, these people are what you'll consider the chosen few, they are given more blessings then the rest of the masses.
What others find struggling, they can easily accomplish, it's just the kind of people they are, and I can't help but be a bit jealous.
To be naturally talented, it's a hack, if I someday acquire it… I wouldn't hesitate to use it to the fullest of my abilities.
"Aether." Ava called out to me.
"Uh?"
"Is something wrong? You've been staring at the Class A students for a while now."
"Oh, I guess you're right."
"Hmmm…" Mutterred Ava as she stared at me even more intensely, without uttering much of a word, she cooped my cheeks in her hands and pulled my face closer.
"Are you sure you're alright? You've been acting weird since this morning." She spoke, I couldn't quite tell if she was worried about me, or just asking as a teammate.
"Just a bit tired, nothing much." I replied.
"Hmmm…" She sighed, releasing her hand from my cheeks, "Sorry, I got a bit clingy".
"Nah it's…"
"Yeah you did… and what's with that smile on your face?!" Chimed Ruxian who was now standing in between me and Ava.
"Goodness me, I can't seem to understand why you hate me so much…" Replied Ava, her arms coped under her boobs, it was obvious she was trying to rile up Ruxian.
Ruxian isn't exactly flat so I don't understand why she'd get railed off over that, sigh! This shouldn't even be something worth worrying about.
"Aether! We're leaving." Ruxian murmured under her breath.
Her blonde hair swayed on my face as she focused all of her attention on Ava.
Thankfully the professor had moved to a new problem before the issue here could escalate further.
"Now listen up, right in front of you are Ferex orbs, magical rocks used to tell what magic class you fall into, getting this information will help me train you better and also help the academy in terms of information, got it… so one by one place your hand on the Ferex orb and it will do the rest".
As the professor passed out this peice of information, I noticed most of the students seemed eager to test it out.
And I don't blame them,
They have the chance to showcase what they can do without having to fight or struggle, no doubt those with higher magical capacity will get chosen to be the group leader.
But you see for me… this might be a slight problem, I never got my vision.
Everyone got theirs as soon as they clocked fifteen, some were lucky to get theirs directly from a god and others from an archon.
This way their magical abilities increases exponentially, it's like having a sudden rare item that boosts your stats tenfolds.
That's how these people see it at least, I on the other hand, don't need any of that, my power alone should be enough to rival that of a god.
Getting a blessing from one of them would mean my name is listed in their records, and thus my identity as Chaos can no longer remain as it is.
So I ditched the whole thing, and funny enough, all I had to do was lie to my father and tell him,
"Oh hey paps, I tots got my blessing from the archon of guidance daddy, and I was blessed with wind, defiant and buff magic."
And all he did was smile and reply,
"Okay Aether."
A confident smile showed on my face as I remembered the look on his face, he couldn't look any more proud even if he wanted to.
Knowing that I have cracked the system means I can face whatever I have ahead of me and I don't have to worry about people worrying about my type of magic, all they know me as is the boy capable of using wind magic.
I stood behind, watching as the students all formed a line to use the Ferex stone and get their magic status read.
Good, I'm fully prepared.
I am very much prepared.
Even though my arm hasn't healed yet and I'm only hiding it with the bandages.
I am still prepared.
.....
A/N
Sorry for the late update, I was busy with something.
I have news, I thought of a way to promote my book and at the end I decided to adapt chapter 17 of this book into a manga.
I can't do the whole book since it would be considered palagarmsm after I sign my contract, but, starting from the moment I go premium, I'll be adapting the most popular chapter, depending on how the month is.
Chapters with the most comments and votes, so if a chapter is to your liking, do leave a comment.
Once I'm done with this chapter, I'll put it on the discord channel, where you all can read it.
Thank you.
