Chapter 35 - And so, they spoke.

[Inside Magi Merch]

"Since when have they been here?" O'niel asked, walking calmly in the hallway with a member of Black Haven, dressed as an assistant walking behind him.

The voices of people chanting his name could still be heard all the way downstairs, mostly being the fact that it's rare for them to see the Ceo of Magi.

"It's been a couple of hours." The lady replied, keeping up with O'niel's pace.

"If that's the case, then it possibly wasn't important," O'niel paused, standing in front of the huge door.

Slowly, he turned to the girl, "Inform 010, the pillars are about to have a meeting, he should take care of things in the meantime".

"As you wish." The lady responded.

And with that, O'niel opened the door, the bright light reflecting on his face as he stepped in, closing the door behind him.

Now inside the room, he could see every member, waiting patiently inside, Jeane dressed in the official Black Haven outfit and was seated on top of the table with a book in her hand.

Raphael was dressed in a beautiful blue dress, standing at the side of the room while petting Haniel who was also dressed in the cult's uniform.

Quilla was lying on the ground, Zakiel seated on the couch, Azaryah rested his back on the wall and Dafahiel was seated close to the window.

"Do you simply enjoy keeping us waiting? 003." Jeane spoke, shutting the book close as she looked at him.

"I came as fast as I could." O'niel replied, pulling one of the chairs close to him and sitting down.

"Yeah, still though, why the sudden meeting, normally Lord Chaos is always present on time like this." Raphael asked, her gaze moving back and forth from everyone in the room.

She was quick to read the unease on Dafahiel and Jeane's face.

"Hold on, did something happen?" Raphael asked,

"Update just came in from Geren…."

"Don't change the topic." Quilla cut Jeane off, and with an intense stare she asked, "Why is the boss not present this time?".

Jeanne sighed, her composure still intact, "I wish I knew, but according to Dafahiel, he went missing this morning, we haven't been able to find him".

"Missing?" Azaryah blurted out, "I doubt lord Chaos is capable of getting lost".

"Exactly, so he must be on a secret mission, something he knows we can't handle, and he's definitely expecting us to take care of things here,...."

Jeane paused, her eyes now set on Quilla,

"Do you understand? 006, don't go making rash decisions, although your loyalty is admirable, you'll only be a burden to him if you keep this up."

Quilla stayed quiet, not giving a single response while she looked away.

With that settled, Jeane continued,

"Now then, it would seem we have a little problem on our hands…." She turned her gaze to the window, "Something slipped our fingers five years ago".

"Uhn?" Zakiel mused.

"A creature, actually, more like a parasite has been roaming about Fiona. Reports of people dying from damaged magic circuits have been going around for the past week or so… authorities think the black havens are involved in this… but it would seem a little project from south Walo escaped our sidge".

"Escaped? Didn't Lord Chaos destroy the whole place? There's no way anything could have survived this." Azaryah added his thoughts.

"That is true, even the said god the Higurashi were serving died in the…" O'niel paused, his eyes slowly widening.

"You've realized it right, the god was able to transfer its souls to another vessel, although I fail to know why, one thing is for sure, if this monster was part of project nike…".

"The god must have tried to revive it again…. That's quite spectacunyahhh~." Zakiel chimed in before Jeanne could complete her words.

"Precisely."

"What kind of monster are we talking about here, I understand it absorbs magic and all that, but isn't it weird none of us has seen it even though it's roaming the city like Jeane claimed?" Rapheal asked.

"Uhn? I've seen it though." Dafahiel spoke.

All eyes immediately fell on her.

"What did you say?" Quilla asked, her eyes intimidating as usual.

"I saw it once with Lord Chaos, it kinda attacked us out of nowhere, it actually managed to cut off Master's hand." Dafahiel explained.

"Eh?" Everyone uttered collectively, all have the same confused expression on their faces.

"Captain was injured?" Haniel asked, her hand on her head as she looked up and screamed, "Ahhhh, Haniel can't imagine Captain getting injured, brain overload!!!".

"When did this happen?" Jeanne asked.

"A few days back,...I guess, during the night we had that meeting thingy with the Revengers and Geren".

Jeanne covered her face with her hand, her eyes widened a bit,

'How could I have let that slip past me?! I'm supposed to be his sword and shield, he was injured?! How?! Damnit, am I slacking because I thought the rest could look after him? How could she let him get injured?! Am I that incompetent?!'.

The rest could see the growing rage and confusion showing on Jeane's fact as silence had already taken over.

Raphael, always the light of the room began clapping her hands with a smile on her face, "That's enough of that, no need to get all gloomy, this is Lord Chaos we are talking about, he probably let himself get injured so the monster could let it guard down or something".

Dafahiel instantly looked to the ground, just from telling them their master was injured, the reaction was heated, she couldn't imagine how they'd react if she told them he did it to save her.

Just when Quilla was about to talk, the screams of multiple people echoed inside the room.

The black haven instantly snapped, their eyes turned towards the door, just a second later, the whole place began to vibrate.

"What's going on?".

"Looks like the Master's friend is in battle with someone… wait… kinda looks like a bad guy though, she's just killing random people, her aura looks different?" Zakiel asked, her eyes red, using one of her powers that allowed her to view everything in her vicinity.

She was using this power to check what was happening in the building.

"If it's someone Lord Chaos knows, then they are automatically under our protection… Let's pay our friend a visit."

Jeane stretched her hand forward, "The one who protects… Saber."

With that, a dark mist began to surround everyone in the room, their dark and mysterious uniform now clouding the room, as they all took their position, ready to face whatever was beyond the door.
