Chapter 47 - The Winter Holiday - Millicent Bulstrode (4)

I waited for my mother to return with Aunt Selene for lunch, they showed up in the early afternoon, both clearly tired and stressed.

"Did everything go well?" – I asked a little anxiously.

Aunt Selene looked at me with various emotions clouding her face.

"Felicius left for work before your mother's owl arrived." – she replied, not giving much more detail.

I swallowed hard, understanding that she had also trusted my words no matter how much it hurt her.

"Have you warned Pansy yet?" – I asked.

Aunt Selene took a deep breath.

"I sent a letter to Pan, but I don't know what her reaction will be, you know how close she is to her father." – she replied, unfortunately without much hope.

All I could do was nod.

Pansy had stayed at Hogwarts to spend the winter break with Draco. This made me hopeless about the outcome that would happen. She was very immersed in her own fantasy world that had nothing to do with the reality we were living.

"Your mother said that you have completed the preparations." – she commented, changing the subject.

I nodded.

"I'm ready, but mother asked me to wait until tomorrow, I understood why because of today's events." – I said a little awkwardly.

While Aunt Selene and I were talking, my mother had gone to the kitchen to order the house-elves to serve lunch.

We sat down at the table in a somewhat tense atmosphere.

"We have to prepare for Goboldo's retaliation, he will soon act. He will probably cause a scandal to make us outcasts in society." – declared my mother at the end of the meal.

"Do you think we should go to the Farleys before he can act? – Aunt Selene asked worriedly.

My mother denied the idea.

"I already sent a letter to them and received a negative response, the way they responded the girls will need to deal with this at the end of the school year." – replied my mother discouraged.

I swallowed hard, I was out of the loop of information. Knowing that they had denied any type of negotiation made me worried.

I hoped they wouldn't object to letting her return to Hogwarts to finish her final year.

They both went to the office to take care of things and I didn't have much to do.

I went back to my room to focus on the homework I needed to finish.

At dinner time I joined my mother and aunt Selene, they were even more tired than at lunch time, it was possible to see the fatigue clearly in their eyes and faces.

"In the morning will you take the first Dan?" – asked my mother curiously.

"Yes, I will do it in the morning. The process is simple, but time-consuming and tiring from what Kai said. I'm not supposed to use two in the same day, Bridget used two in the same day and ended up so tired she fell asleep in the bathtub, she was lucky she didn't drown." – I explained.

My words made them worry. But as I had stated more than once that the Dans would work perfectly, they did not voice their concerns.

After dinner they ended up retiring for the night as they no longer had the energy to continue doing anything today.

I went to my room and decided to sleep.

My anxiety was too much to let me fall asleep, in the middle of the night I got up and went to my desk, grabbed a piece of parchment and my quill and started writing a letter to Gemma.

To Gemma Farley

I talked to my mom and aunt Selene on December 28th, they listened enough to investigate. They are still not happy with the path I decided to take, although they are not opposed to us, they are worried about the transformations I will go through.

This morning, January 1st, I reached my goal. I couldn't hide my happiness at having reached this stage. My mother, seeing my situation, made a decision, she put my father out of the house, she discovered that he and other confirmed people were absent from work at the same time.

At lunch time she looked for Aunt Selene to take refuge here. She's expecting a retaliation from my father. From the way she said it, we should soon see something being published in the Daily Prophet.

I'm afraid of what could happen to you, you need to go back to Hogwarts, there we will be able to plan our next steps with Kai.

I believe he will be able to solve something, especially with your books. We've already seen what he was able to do without any support, imagine what he will do with access to all the education Hogwarts can provide.

I miss you, I don't know how I've been able to sleep these days.

All yours, Millicent Bulstrode.

When I left the room to send the owl I found my mother sitting in the office with the door open.

"What are you doing awake Mil? – she asked when she saw me.

I walked into the office and sat in front of her as if we were ready to have tea.

"I couldn't sleep, I decided to write a letter to Gemma." – I confessed to her.

My mother took a deep breath, she showed sadness at that moment.

"I know you girls will make this work, but it weighs on me knowing that you won't be able to be with her openly. It took me many years to accept this side of me and a few more to free my mind from what I was taught. But society does not accept us as we are, we are going to be attacked from all sides and they will try to make us outcasts of society, you have to be prepared for what is to come." – she said melancholy.

I smiled at her, hearing her care about me was something that made my heart warm. I got up from the sofa I was on and sat next to her, resting my head on her shoulder. My mother then put her arm around my shoulders bringing me closer to her.

"I was alone most of my first year at Hogwarts, Pansy stopped talking to me because of Draco. I know what it's like to be excluded, to be looked down upon. Purebloods know nothing but to think of themselves and anyone different is excluded. But something tells me we are entering a new era." – I said, knowing more than I was saying.

I couldn't expose all of Kai's secrets, even to my mother.

"Why don't you go and send the letter to Gemma, I don't believe either of us are going to sleep today so we can get started on what you need to do?" – she asked, smoothing my hair.

I agreed with her.

Before getting up I kissed her cheek and saw a small smile appear on her face.

I sent the letter through Ulmo, one of my mother's owls.

When I came back I found my mother waiting for me at the door of the downstairs bathroom.

She had already prepared the bathtub so I could get in.

"Is the Dan with you?" – she asked.

Realizing I needed to get Dan I ran to my room while trying not to make any noise.

When I came back my mother seemed to want to laugh at me, which made me blush.

I went to the bathtub to start undressing and was stopped for a moment by her presence.

"I'm your mother, there's nothing I've never seen." – she said, still finding it funny.

I tried to overcome my shyness and undressed. I took off my pajama top, leaving my torso completely exposed and then I took off my pants and finally my panties. I tried to hide my body with my hands.

"If I didn't know you were my daughter I would admire how you look, your friend's Fat Loss Dans really work, you didn't have any flab from losing weight. I've heard of similar products, but none like this." – commented my mother, admiring my body, but without any feeling other than admiration.

I got into the bathtub, took a deep breath and swallowed Dan.

The first was the Marrow Cleansing Dan, I knew it wouldn't be pleasant.

Soon I started to feel my heart speed up, my body started to heat up making the water warm. My spine then started to go into a burning and freezing cycle.

I did my best to resist the instinct to scream to calm the pain.

I could feel my mother's presence, she was clearly worried.

I don't know how much time passed, but the pain finally ended.

I exhaled the air from my lungs and let my back rest in the bathtub.

"That was… unnerving." – commented my mother a little nervously.

I opened my eyes and directed my gaze towards her.

"You were clearly in pain Mil, I know you trust your friend, but it wasn't pretty to see. After a few minutes you began to excrete a black substance from all your pores." – she added, looking more relieved.

She motioned for me to get up, it took me a few seconds to be able to fulfill her request.

My mother took out the wand making the water disappear and cast Scourgify on me.

"I thought it would be impossible in this lifetime, but in the end you were taller than me, even if just barely." – commented my mother.

When I got out of the bathtub I could look into her eyes directly and could tell that I was taller than her.

"You're probably 6"5' now." – she completed.

I smiled at her and put on my clothes.

We went back to the office and sat down again with me lying on her shoulder.

"How is your magic core?" – asked my mother after a few minutes.

I closed my eyes trying to analyze my magical power within me.

"My core evolved once." – She finally said after confirming.

My mother straightened my hair.

"Your hair feel silkier." – she commented.

I smiled, but the tiredness of ingesting Dan ended up getting the better of me.

When I woke up I was lying on the sofa in the office without my mother in sight.

I got up and went to my room to change my clothes.

When I arrived in the dining room I found my mother and Aunt Selene sitting at the table.

"I'm glad you decided to join us." – Aunt Selene said jokingly.

My mother still looked tired, but not as tired as the night before.

I smiled, embarrassed by the situation.

When the food arrived I noticed that it was lunch and not breakfast.

"Your mom told me about what you guys did last night. I have to say I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to see it." – commented Aunt Selene.

I lowered my head.

"Sorry, it was spur of the moment." – I said guiltily.

"The next one will be the one that really transforms you, won't it?" – she asked curiously.

I nodded.

"Are you going to take it today?" – she asked.

"At the end of the afternoon, I need to rest a little more." – I said, my body still feeling a little tired.

She nodded.

This whole time, my mother just looked at me, but she didn't say anything.

Aunt Selene should have lectured her.

After lunch I went to my room to sleep some more.

I woke up to a knock on the door.

When I opened it I found my mother holding an envelope.

"Gemma replied to her letter, dear." – said my mother, handing the letter to me.

"Thank you mom." – I replied, taking the envelope.

Millicent Bulstrode

Things aren't going the way I want here, but nothing is going to make me give up. One way or another I'll be on the train back to Hogwarts.

Kai is a little box of surprises, I'm sure we'll be safe.

I miss you too, sleeping without you is very lonely.

I can't wait to see you after your unnecessary transformation. Just kidding, I know it's important to you.

All yours, Gemma Farley.

I clutched the letter to my chest feeling the feelings that Gemma 'put' in it.

"Ready for next time Dan?" – I asked my mother.

She was smiling watching me read the letter, but my words woke her up.

"Let's do this just like last time." - she said.

I agreed.

I went to my things and took out the Bone Forging Dan.

I took a deep breath.

Accompanying my mother, we arrived in the same bathroom where I had taken the Marrow Cleansing. My mother then went to call Aunt Selene while I got into the bathtub.

The two wanted to be on guard for what was about to happen.

I was already naked in the bathtub with water when they arrived.

"Ready Mil?" – asked my mother.

"Yes, this Dan will forge my skeleton, unless I fall unconscious you must not do anything." – I said, hesitating a little.

The two reluctantly agreed.

I put the Bone Forging Dan in my mouth and as soon as it fell into my stomach I started to feel its effects. Heat and cold took over my entire body from my bones. I closed my eyes and concentrated on enduring the discomfort.

Seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours, and hours felt like eternity.

When my body finally realized the absence of discomfort, I opened my eyes.

My mother and Aunt Selene looked at me with surprise, a lot of surprise.

"I thought it would be something like Polyjuice Potion, I didn't expect it to be something so different." – commented Aunt Selene.

I found her speech strange.

"What happened to me that you are like this?" – I asked a little nervously.

"Nothing too extraordinary, dear. It just seemed like her body was slowly adapting. We expected something more… violent." – said my mother.

I sighed in relief.

I went to get ready to get out of the bathtub and finally looked at my hands and arms. My fingers were still long, but now they were thin, delicate. My arms contained a good amount of muscle, but I could see that they weren't as wide as before. Looking more closely I noticed that my shoulders were now narrower, my torso had also thinned, my breasts seemed larger than they were previously due to less space they took up.

When I finally started to get up from the bathtub I noticed my waist tapering and my hips expanding, my legs had more feminine shape than before. That alone was enough for me, but I wanted to find out what my face looked like.

Had it changed, or was I doomed to always look like a boy?

When I turned to the bathroom mirror I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
