"Who was that?" Aster held his blade in an attacking position, ready for an attack.
"Child, do not be afraid...I am here to help, not to harm..." A mystical voice sounded from seemingly nowhere.
"Are you...in my head?" He began to wonder.
"Smart child..I knew it...besides that...I am the Goddess that guards your world...Astra...and you..you are my child, destined to slay the threats of evil that threaten the world..." The voice continued on, a dire but calm tone took to Aster's ears.
"If you are guarding the world...then why are there any threats anyway?" Aster asked, listening intently for an answer.
"Ah...I knew that was coming..." She sighed, beginning to explain. "You see, when the threat arrived, I was able to subdue it in a barrier, deep within the earth, and select beings of power aided me in trapping the threat's elite servants aswell...but, as time goes on, my power to keep the barrier has eroded...and thus, you, the last piece of my original power, with the blade I left for you to find at the right time...must destroy the threat once and for all...please..." She sounded desperate, and the boy thought on it, lowering the blade.
"Ok, I'll help..." He decided, a sense of responsibility filling him to the brim.
"Thank you...now, go check on Lily, she might be in trouble..." The goddess's voice now faded.
"Lilly?!" He rushed out, after hearing a scream, cutting the vines apart and rushing into the scene, Lilly was being attacked by some monsters, wildlife spirits, he had heard they get angry when people do wrong to the wildlife and attack, but they hadn't done anything!
He suddenly noticed their red appearance, and an ominous black aura surrounding it.
The spirits themselves were glowing green usually, with a lighter tint middle of the four, glowing-thin, leaf-like structures, a glowing green crystal in the middle, the crystal was spherical, their heads were just glowing green energy, but now, the energy was now red, the crystal was black as the night, and now, the head was black with red, glowing eyes.
They usually were in packs, but this was one, single, giant spirit.
"...Get away from her!" Aster charged forward, slashing the sword across the spirit's chest, but it just replled him backwards.
"Don't give up! I believe in you!" Lilly yelled, attracting the attention of the spirit, as it began it's advance, Aster ran at the spirit, holding his blade with two hands at his side, and he jumped and sliced across it's crystal heart, as it split into two.
It faded into dust.
Aster panted, his blade at his side.
Lilly suddenly hugged him. "Well done!!! You were so brave!" She giggled, it was moments like this that made Aster happier in dark times.
Suddenly, Lily stepped back in a cry of shock, and as Aster turned around, she was...transforming?
Her new outfit had a white shirt, small with a flowery pattern at the bottom, coloured white with a gold top that is shaped like a small star. The top was elevated by another, smaller, tighter white shirt underneath, to protect her cleavage from damage and for extra bulk to resist attacks. Her pants were thickly black in colour that made its way down to her shoes, with a little purple stripe going down one side on each pant leg, her shoes were not heels but they made her look taller, only by a little. Her hair had turned a Vibrant Blonde.
"Woah..." She gasped, looking and feeling her new appearance. "Wow!"
"How did that happen?!" Aster gasped.
"Me... I blessed your friend with a shard of my power, kept for if you failed...but, I think you two stand a chance while I find you other allies..." The voice sounded again.
"T-thank you...Goddess Astra."
She didn't respond.
"Well..uhm, should we get going? I don't know if our village will be ok... we should hurry!" Lily blurted out.
"Oh, yes! C'mon, let's head towards the village!" Aster replied, grabbing her hand and running out, stopping suddenly, as they saw...
The village, afar, was in flames.
