"Sir, it's Crimson Villa," he replied.
"What? Crimson Villa? Impossible!" Mr Yung was shocked to the core.
Who the hell is this kid? Mr Yung said.
Rexxon Energy Conference room
Out of the fifteen board members, twelve were in support of the former vice chairman Mr Lee and their employment was immediately terminated.
The meeting with the new board members was over very quickly but Minos thought it would be better to take his time to address his employees and also update the vision board of Rexxon Energy. This wasn't any small feat as getting the workers from the other company branches was a real hassle. After everything was done, Minos checked his time and saw 7:20. He immediately realized that he was already 20 minutes late to the party. He quickly cleared his desk, took his keys and started heading out. He reached the Chu's residence around 7:50. Seeing him and his ride, the guards were shocked and every worker that saw him too as they were no stranger to how the Chu's treated Minos, but they were quick to hide it as they thought maybe the Chu's wanted to show off Minos since the party going on inside was supposed to be for him. Minos found a secluded spot to park his Ferrari and immediately rushed inside. Truthfully, Minos just wanted to get this day and the party over with. Inside the house, Mr Chu could be seen talking to some influential looking men while Lin Chu immediately approached him as soon as he sighted Minos.
"If it isn't the bastard son of the Chu family," Lin Chu said not hiding the look of disgust on his face.
"I thought you wouldn't make it. Minos, you know you really surprised me. I thought it was just a rumor, but seriously can't believe Zhang Han is still a virgin. I must say I really appreciate you for keeping her for me all these years." Lin Chu continued before patting Minos on the back.
Gritting his teeth, Minos just walked away moving towards an empty seat where he saw Luca sitting casually sipping his wine.
"Mr Luca, you're here," Minos said grabbing himself a seat.
"Yes, I'm quite popular myself you know as the lawyer and new acting vice chairman of Rexxon." Luca said smiling at Minos
"It seems like you're getting too comfortable as Rexxon vice chairman. Consider your salary for next month slashed in half," Minos said before grabbing Luca's wine.
"But sir, I didn't do anything to warrant such punishment," Luca said in his most remorseful tone.
"How can you be here before me? I thought I left before you." Minos said putting on a funny looking face while Luca just sat there shocked as he didn't even know what to do next.
"Well, see you around." Minos said punching Luca lightly on his arm which caused a gasp in the hall.
Seeing this, Mr Chu hurriedly apologized to Luca and dragged Minos away from the table
"What's wrong with you?" Mr Chu asked in pure fury.
"Do you know who that is? Do you want to ruin my life in Country V? Just what wicked thoughts do you have towards the Chu family?" Mr Chu kept asking a million and one question at a time before Mrs Chu rushed in.
"Honey, what's going on here?" she asked
"This delinquent was exchanging hands with Mr Luca the vice president of Rexxon Energy."
"You mean the number one industry in Country V?" Mrs Chu asked again, already envisioning how she would brag in her circle of friends as the number one company vice attended a function in her house. Seeing Mr Chu nod, Mrs Chu grabbed Minos and delivered four powerful slaps, two on each side of his cheek.
"Let's just get this over and disown him before he brings more doom to our family," Mrs Chu said walking out while dragging Mr Chu.
Holding his cheek, Minos walked out. Of course he wasn't surprised as this wasn't the first time Mrs Chu laid her hands on him. Glancing at Luca who seemed to understand what just transpired, he sent him an apologetic look. Minos just walked straight to the bar where he saw Zhang Han and Lin Chu with some other teen couples laughing and drinking very close to the counter. As soon as Zhang Han noticed him, she sent him a weird looking smirk but Minos seemed to understand the meaning behind it: "I'm better than you". That was the first thing that entered his mind. He moved to the counter and ordered a cold smoothie.
Time passed before Mr Chu climbed on the stage.
"Good evening everyone, as you all know this is the birthday party of my foster son 'Minos' and he's turning 21 today. So we the Chu family believe in giving back to the community. After taking care of Minos for nearly 20 years we can tell by his character he loves to be independent. You know he kept telling us he doesn't want to be a Chu for the past three years." Mr Chu paused as murmuring filled the hall.
Such a despicable child, ungrateful wretch. Insolent child were the words that filled the hall. Meanwhile Minos was just pissed as his foster parents were creating a lie but he didn't seem to remember what or when this conversation took place.
"So last night," Mr Chu continued, "we thought it through and decided to let him have his way but the Chu's couldn't let our family member go empty handed and decided to award him the sum of 2 million V credits which will happen later in the day." Mr Chu smiled with a generous smile looking at his wife who gave him a thumbs up nodding her head in approval.
"Also we have a celebrity amongst us. The Chu family would like to welcome the presence of the vice president of Rexxon Energy, 'Mr Luca'. Please come to the stage sir." Mr Chu said in a pleading tone.
"Alright!" Luca said leaving his seat and walking to the stage where he stopped, brought out his phone, looked at his phone before dropping it back and climbing the stage.
"It's really an honor for you to acknowledge my invitation Mr Luca." Mr Chu said in a very loud tone as if he was conveying a message to the general public rather than an actual word of thanks.
"Mr Chu how many people actually honored your invitation?" Luca asked.
"About 25 people but all are either from a wealthy family or representative of a wealthy family," Mr Chu answered with pride in his voice.
"Okay. That's good. Including the media right?" He asked looking at Mr Chu.
"Erm, with the media we are about 34 people all together." Mr Chu said.
"Okay good. Please the media can you please turn off your cameras and any recording device. If there's any publication of what happens here from now onward, Rexxon will be quick to act mercilessly." Luca said remembering the message he got from the text on his phone from Minos which read "Expose my position to the few heirs here but make sure no video is made about it and only do so if the present population of the event is not up to 50".
"Okay, ladies and gentlemen I'm sure you all don't know but we have a very special guest in our midst." Luca said making the crowd to start scanning the audience but they soon returned their attention to Luca.
"Please help me welcome the Chairman of Rexxon Energy," he paused causing everyone to pay closer attention to his words.
"Please help me welcome Mr Minos Agger." Luca said and the crowd was shocked to the core as Minos left the bar area and walked towards the stage taking the microphone from Luca.
"Honestly, I want to thank the Chu family for all they've done even if I was treated as trash, at least they took care of my schooling and for that I won't pursue them from Country V for lying with my name in order to boost their popularity." Minos smiled towards a shocked Mr Chu nodding at him. The crowd immediately understood what was going on and started cursing at the Chu's.
After talking for a while he dropped the microphone and went back to his seat at the bar section. When his eyes met with Zhang Han's shocked expression, he smiled at her nodding his head. Mr Chu, Mrs Chu and Lin Chu were still shocked from what just happened and hadn't recovered yet.
The night ended with Minos donating 20 million V credits to the Chu family before leaving…
