Louise looked at the sobbing woman next to him; he was staring at her with a complex emotion that he was unsure how to handle. He had betrayed her trust and caused her great pain by abandoning her and his pledge to come back.
He was hurting from the guilt of tricking her in this way as well, but he was unsure of how to tell her. Should he sneeze and act as though he is awake, or should he just pretend to be dead until she realizes what is going on and figures out how to save him?
Though he was pretending to be dead and she was not a medical doctor, he doubted that she would have that thought given the way she was crying.
He sighed, deep in thought about how to bring the "death" show he was currently performing to an end. Nevertheless, he did not have to consider it as Sonya saw his hand move out of the corner of her eye.
She secretly checked his pulse with her finger on his wrist before slowly turning to face him.
