Chapter 1 - Chapter 1; A murder

The stench of blood was nerve-racking in the room of the young master of the Coles,

Fear gnawed at the hearts of those in the house as they stared at the lifeless body of a maid on the king-sized bed.

Aside from the body was a boy in his early teens.

His features were soft and handsome, and he had brilliant blue eyes that could captivate anyone. However, those eyes were hollow and emotionless, as if his life had been sucked out.

The boy sat next to the maid, his clothes splattered with blood, and his hand held a silver dagger loosely.

The maids in the room were shocked, turning to each other and whispering in horror.

"I can not believe the young master would do anything like this."A young maid shivered.

"Me too. Who would have thought he would kill Mila? I mean, "Why?" Another person whispered.

"Really, Bianca?" Look at him right now; he appears to have lost his mind. Maybe he has changed into... "

"Hey! Keep quiet; you do not want him jumping at you, do you? And Mr. Anderson is right there." Bianca pinched the person who spoke earlier from behind, her face white as a sheet. The maid who had spoken abruptly closed her mouth.

They turned to face the door when they heard hurried footsteps.

The family patriarch, Oldrich Cole, walked in.

His eyes widened as he stared at the scene before him, filled with horror and sorrow.

His hands trembled as he moved closer to the boy.

 "Louise," he called.

The young boy neither looked up nor moved.

"Louise My boy, it is your grandfather; please drop the knife; no one is going to hurt you; listen to grandpa."

Oldrich pleaded as he moved cautiously towards him, but came to a halt when he felt someone grab his arm.

He shifted his gaze to his son Anderson Cole, who sighed and shook his head, saying it was not a good idea to get too close to him because the boy was still out of his mind.

Oldrich wore a pained expression. He was not expecting this when he called the boy home.

He turned to see the maids whispering among themselves and said to Anderson. "Get rid of them quietly."

His tone was heavy, conveying coldness and irritation.

Anderson nodded and motioned for his personal guard to take the maids out.

"Take care of this mess," Oldrich said through clenched teeth, struggling to contain his rage. "It was caused by your negligence, so you better make sure this is handled properly."

His eyes were cold as he stared at his son, but they warmed up as soon as he turned to face Louise.

Louise stared at the lifeless body; he appeared lost and dazed. His hands trembled as he whimpered. "Sonya. I am sorry."

He imagined the face of a girl a few years younger than him staring at him with sad eyes, then his pupils dilated and he passed out.

—---_—----_—------_—----------_—----_—--

 11 years later

Inside an elegant and sophisticated sitting room. Three people sat on the coach facing the TV.

The two people seated in the center were both middle-aged and attractive.

The man on the coach was slightly overweight, standing 6'3 feet tall with a bulky build that would have made him look like a fitness expert if not for his slightly bulging belly.

He had brown hair and doe-like eyes that resembled the limpid waters, and he could stir the hearts of many women, lulling them away in his calm but frivolous charm.

However, those eyes that would stir the souls of women were staring at the TV with trepidation and anxiety, occasionally stealing glances at the woman beside him.

"It has been confirmed that the country's pride and renowned doctor will return home today at 10:32 p.m. at the capital's international airport. It has been two years since she left to tour the continent with her mentor to treat people suffering from psychological traumas caused by the war in Geopics," the reporter stated.

She continued to deliver her news, unaware of the angry stares of a viewer from this mansion, which happens to be the home of the woman she is referring to.

"Who leaked the information?" The middle-aged woman inquired in a heavy tone.

She has brown hair, slightly narrowed grey eyes, and a long face.

Her face was bare, but just looking at it would make any actress or model envious of its clear and smooth texture. Her lovely eyes glared at her husband, sending warning signals.

"How would I know? There are a lot of people looking for information about Sonya, and it is understandable that they want to know about her routine and details." Henry stuttered.

His doe-like eyes widened as he looked at his wife, an innocent expression on his face. But Despite his efforts to hide his emotions, his wife saw right through him.

Avni stared at him, causing his heart to race. She moved her gaze to the other person sitting on the single sofa and asked with a hiss,

 "Brenda! Did you do it?"

The girl quickly shook her head, but then her gaze shifted to her father for a split second.

Avni's glare intensified, and she became suspicious. Brenda looked a lot like her, but her personality was very different from everyone else in the house. She appears to have inherited negative traits from her father's side of the family.

Brenda's body tensed unconsciously while sitting on the sofa because of her mother's glare. She looked at her mother and abruptly spoke. "I will call Mr Davies and find out where they are".

"Why call them? Go pick her up from the airport." Avni interjected.

Brenda nodded, but in her heart she whined; the thought of pushing through the crowd to get her sister, or missing her entirely, made her sick.

Avni gave her husband another glare before turning away and speaking sternly.

"It will not be good for either of you if I find out you are behind this nonsense."

Henry and Brenda felt the hair on their necks stand up and a shiver run down their spine. Avni was a no-nonsense woman. She was strict and insisted on keeping her affairs private.

She despised arrogance and flattery. In fact, she was almost never close to anyone other than her family because she disliked anything that made her think excessively.

She was strict, sometimes controlling, and often brusque in her speech, which offended many wealthy ladies.

It was a miracle if she joined in on a joke, and even more shocking if she started one.

It was once asked how she managed to run the shelter and charity organization with her personality.

Brenda quickly agreed to avoid trouble. Although she was responsible for the news earlier, the idea came from her father. She forced a smile and glared silently at her dad. In her heart, she lamented having to listen to him.

Avni silently watched the two of them as they secretly stared at each other, and she wanted to explode.

"I believe it would be wise for both of you to leave my side and go get Sonya home."

They both slowly stood up, heads bowed, and walked out.

At the stairs, Brenda elbowed her father and glared at him, indignantly.

Avni sighed tiredly as she watched them both leave.

Henry drove to the airport, where they waited for hours but could not find Sonya anywhere. This made both of them nervous.

Brenda inquired, suspecting that she had changed her mind about coming.

"Dad, do you think she canceled her flight?"

Henry squinted his eyes before shaking his head.

" She would not do that. Do you think she got kidnapped?" He was slightly fidgeting at the thought. How else could you explain why she has not been seen?

If only Avni had not forbidden him from using his connections to find out whether she had landed or not. His wife could be cruel and annoying at times.

"Dad!"Brenda exclaimed and smacked his arm. ''You are thinking too much." She glared.

"So why is not she out yet? Your mother is going to kill us both if she finds out." Henry let out a shudder. He imagined his wife's expression if such a thing happened.

Brenda saw her father's panicked expression and wanted to laugh, but she could not because she was in the same mess. She wished she had not listened to him.

But what was wrong with informing the country that their beloved doctor was back?

"It is all your fault. Why don't you call Mr Davies?" She blamed everything on her father, and the man could only nod and do what she said.

Henry nodded so hard that Brenda thought his head would fall off. He took out his phone and called Mr Davies, but what he heard shocked him.

"What happened?" Brenda asked, panicked. Her father looked as if the world was about to collapse.

If her blood pressure does not rise today, she will definitely visit the parish.

"Davies said she arrived last night." Henry answered. His eyes were filled with concern.

'So where could she have been yesterday? Was She really kidnapped?.

The father and daughter seemed to be thinking the same thing, as their mouths were wide open.
