Jawbridge University
It was in the middle of July, hundreds of students along with parents rushed around the university campus bringing items around in order to prepare for August intake for the dorm life. June was busy unpacking her belongings, having just sent off her parents, by unpacking the bedroom items. Her hockey stick went first followed by her favourite set of throwing knives. She quickly packed those away in the desk drawer not wanting to get caught, by whom? No one knows but best not to risk it.
As June went back to the duffel bag to finish unpacking it, she suddenly froze having glimpsed the sky going through a mirage of colours in just a couple seconds. Standing, she slowly made her way towards the window standing a few feet away as her mind wouldn't allow her to step further. She watched as the sky changed from red to blue when everything stopped and for a calm second the sky looked like any normal clear day, suddenly the sky exploded in a mix of orange and other colours.
June stood in shock and watched as the windows of the building in front of her exploded, managing to take a couple steps back before the shockwave hit her building send glass shards everywhere and June onto the wall. Groaning she slowly got to her feet, holding her back from the pain she felt, and slowly walked towards the window. Disorientation made her see doubles for a few seconds. Looking outside she saw broken tree branches strewn about and light reflecting off shattered glass from the light posts. The once pristine campus now looked as if a hurricane passed through.
Backing away June took a moment to collect herself and observe her dorm room when a hologram popped up in her face. Startling, June jumped and let out a small scream. "What the hell is this?" Observing the hologram, she tried to see where it came from, but her search was fruitless. Deciding to read what is said she saw the following:
[Mana initialization complete. Good luck to you survivors, Universe knows you'll need it. Welcome to your new life.]
Shortly after she finished reading another screen replaced this one:
[The tutorial has now begun. Choose a card quickly and wisely, your future depends on it. Say or think 'status' and you shall see about yourself. Cards will appear in one minute.]
With a sigh escaping from her lips, June slid down the bed frame resting against it and started thinking. 'This really reminds me of the mangas and webnovels I've read. I hope it's like them so I can convince myself I have a bit of knowledge about stuff but in the same breath whoever did this I hope they have mercy on us.'
