Chapter 3 - Learning Magic?

As Arthur lay there covered in dirt from head to toe with the ever increasing sound of the carriage drawing near to his demise, he couldn't help but wonder if God would give him a third chance at life.

[Idiot!]

[Idiot!]

[You're such an idiot.]

Hearing that familiar angelic voice who should have been his companion rather than his killer, Arthur for some reason still could not get angry at her, sigh… I wonder why?

[If you want to live, imagine yourself teleporting to me.]

"How many times do I have to tell you Yuki, I'm huma–."

[Wait, did you call me Yuki? Ehh whatever we will talk about it after you survive, for now do as I say.]

"Fine, tell me, if I can live that would be better, I doubt God would give me a third chance at life."

[All you have to do is imagine yourself being next to me and say the word Teleport.]

With nothing better to do Arthur imagined himself next to the now named Yuki

Teleport

.…

Failed

He knew it, but it was better than doing nothing, right?

[Idiot, you truly are the biggest idiot.] Yuki said through voice transmission with a fed up tone.

"... Maybe I am"

[Arthur, do exactly as I say, okay?]

"Alright."

[First step, do you remember where you were previously?]

"Yeah, I do, but I don't understand what you mean." Arthur said in confusion.

[Just listen to me, to use the teleportation magic spell you need to fulfill three requirements, first the mage who is trying to use the spell must have an affinity with space magic, second you need to know exactly where you want to teleport to, the image needs to be vivid as possible, the clearer the image of your destination the better or else you might teleport into the middle of an object and meet the old man again, and third the mage needs to have enough mana to perform instant teleportation or you might suffer a backlash. Do you understand?]

When Arthur heard magic not only exists in this world, but he can even use it, he was completely ecstatic as an avid otaku, how could he not be? Not only that, Yuki even told him to use teleport, doesn't that mean he has the rarest kinds of affinity? Before he was just humoring her by trying to teleport, but who would have thought he could actually use magic?

I can do this, first let's take a deep breath and forget everything, except for what I remembered when I first woke up a tail, a fluffy-fluffy tail, and then a clear sky, a bright blue cloudless sky, and then… then

[I should have expected, you don't remember, do you?]

[... I wanted to use this moment to teach you yet… sigh what else could I have expected? Forget it Gate.]

To be truthful, Arthur was quite disappointed he wasn't able to use his first ever magic spell after learning he was not only in a world full of magic, he could even use it, only to be hit with reality. However, he mostly blames his inability of not being able to move even a muscle being the problem. Otherwise, he could have seen and remembered way more of his surroundings right? Right!

As Arthur was wallowing in sadness, what he presumed to be his savior, who had put him in said danger, had apparently used some kind of teleportation magic spell different from what he was taught previously because as soon as it was used, a black gold rimmed portal appeared right beneath him, taking him to where he previously awoke narrowly saving him from the carriage which went past where he previously laid, making him realize all of that was unnecessary.

To which his companion turned almost murderer turned savior found it quite hilarious if the angelic laugh was any give away to her current mood.
