Cali moves about the living room frantically, pacing back and forth. She grinds her fingernails in her palms to soothe her anxiety. At the same time, her brother, Ken, is filled with excitement and anticipation.
"It is quite close to eleven o'clock. Are you positive that she will come to see us?" He inquires with a hopeful look in his eyes.
"Yeah. That is correct." Unless anything unexpected takes place. But Cali never tells anybody else about it.
She is too terrified to upset his brother with the terrifying events she watched over a cell phone, so she has not told Ken how she came to locate Laura.
Nik informed her over the phone that they were going to her flat half an hour ago. However, anything at all might transpire. What if Mr. DelaRoy violates the trust that we've placed in him? What if something were to happen while they were traveling? What if Laura and Nik end up in a precarious situation?
