"I have to go back inside. Tara does not like to eat by herself. I'll talk to you soon." Ruby bids them farewell and enters the restaurant.
Nik and Cali continued wandering in the exquisite courtyard hand in hand, enjoying one other's presence.
"Do you feel better?" Nik asks after some time has passed.
"Yeah," Cali replies to him. Ruby's kind remarks have made her feel so much better.
Nik cocks his head and adds, "I want to take you to a place," as he gestures.
"Which place?" Cali asks with an interested tone.
Nik gives her a wink, saying, "You'll know when we get there," and she smiles.
"Alright, Mr. Mysterious," Cali said, unable to prevent a grin from appearing as she spoke.
Cali watches the city fade away in the rearview mirror as she relaxes in the car's passenger seat. Her interest is stimulated to an even greater degree. The car makes the turn onto the Long Island Highway and switches lanes.
