"What on earth are you thinking?" Nik hushes Cali by gently caressing the lobe of her ear. They are currently snoozing in the shadows, with their hands intertwined and their legs intertwined with one another.
"Nothing. I'm just a little bit exhausted." Cali grins as she turns her attention to him and faces him.
"You seem to be bothered by something. That much is clear to me. Is there anything wrong?" Nik's question reveals the apparent worry in his tone of voice.
"Yeah. It is too good to be true, making everything seem surreal." Cali repositions her body so that she is facing him.
"What exactly do you mean when you say 'too good'?" Nik muses.
Cali pauses before continuing, "I was afraid that they wouldn't like me before I met them," Nik responds with a hearty belly laugh.
