Chapter 10 - Dorm (1)

The sudden transition jolted Adam's senses. He staggered for a moment, disoriented by the teleportation. Blinking rapidly, he found himself standing in a new setting, a fusion of high technology and ancient design that characterized the Enclave Academy.

Stepping down from the circular platform, he sensed a curious energy, humming with a blend of arcane glyphs engraved on the walls and flickering holographic screens throughout. Students of various species hustled past, engrossed in their activities and glancing at the newcomer with a mixture of fascination and wariness.

Taking in the surroundings, Adam attempted to shake off the sensation of disorientation. With the memory of an unfamiliar realm and the imminent threat of war and conflict looming, 'survival is the main priority.'

The wristwatch adorning his arm served as a stark visual representation of his binding to this place. Flexing his hand, the weight of the device acted as a constant reminder of the stringent conditions imposed upon him.

'Hmm, this place is vast. I could easily get lost if I walk aimlessly,' he mused to himself, preventing any wandering.

Observing the different students of various species, he noted that the majority appeared human, but some had peculiar features—strange ears, tails, fur, or even branches growing from their bodies. Other inhabitants displayed wholly alien features, with non-human legs, faces, or bodies.

Navigating through the bustling corridors, Adam scanned the various signs and holographic displays. Tapping his wrist, he asked Ai to search for the elusive dorm building number 77 and room number 7. Soon, Ai displayed a hologram map to guide him to his destination. 'Oh, that's helpful, but how do I read a map? I can't remember it,' he admitted with an embarrassed smile.

Along the way, he encountered a diverse array of species—beast people, Genos, and beings I couldn't quite place—all engrossed in their activities. Feeling their behaviors were odd toward humans, l hesitated, reluctant to seek guidance, as for the fellow humans, I was fearful that they might discern he was an outsider

"You know what fuck it! What's the worst that could happen?" I thought, attempting to comprehend the map.

[One Eternity Later]

"Darn, it! I am lost. I've been wandering for an hour and still can't find my room!" I muttered in frustration.

Soon, I heard someone's light footsteps approaching me. I gathered my strength and turned around to face the source., "Who?"

"Ah, you could sense through my silent shadow step," the young boy said, his voice echoing through the corridor.

"Intriguing… Silent shadow step? What's that?" I inquired.

"Yes, it's a footstep technique I was practicing, trying to follow you without being noticed. Your extraordinary sense picked up my movements," the boy replied.

'Silent shadow step, your footstep is as loud as a bell, enough to give me a heart attack,' I muttered inwardly.

"Are you lost? I overheard you cursing yourself," the boy asked.

"Excuse me?" I tried to act offended

'Please Help me out,' I wanted to request internally.

"Hehe, sorry, but if you're bad at understanding maps, why not ask Ai to guide you in voice navigate mode?" the boy suggested in a curious tone.

"Ahem! I was testing my navigation skills, but it seems I need more training," I came up with a cover story to conceal my embarrassment.

The boy gave Adam a skeptical look, seemingly unconvinced by his excuse.

'What do you mean, my excuse was perfect!' I thought, trying to hide my frustration.

"Anyway, my name is Raven Vanya," the boy introduced himself. Raven Vanya, a young human with blue eyes and purple hair, seemed quite charming.

"Adam! Nice to meet you, Raven."

Soon his wrist watch vibration, Raven checked his notification, his cheerful expression fading into a blank look.

"Sorry, I have to go. Bye, and good luck finding your room," he excused himself and swiftly left.

"He was indeed a strange guy," I mused silently. "This AI is quite similar to what I recall. Hmm, let's find my room first," I resolved.

"Activate voice navigate mode to dorm building 77 and room 7," I commanded to my wrist gadget

[Initiating voice navigate mode], confirmed the robotic voice emanating from my wrist.

[Follow this straight route, and take a turn… you'll reach the dormitory block] The robotic guide directed Adam to his destination.

Acknowledging the guidance with a nod of gratitude, I continued to feel isolated amidst the varied blend of students and diverse species.

The reverberating voice drew a range of reactions from the students of different species, their expressions a mix of curiosity and wariness. Picking up my pace, I endeavored to sidestep any potential trouble.

Navigating toward the assigned dorm, I keenly perceived the diverse reactions of different species toward my race. It became evident that my journey at the Enclave Academy would be fraught with both visible and unseen challenges.
