Shante was shocked after receiving the news that Xsmyv was successful in her audition. She was convinced that the production team should have cast her friend in the role. She immediately called her boyfriend, Aaron, to express her concerns and frustration.
Aaron was in the middle of a business meeting when he noticed a call coming in from Shante. He excused himself briefly from the meeting to take the call.
"Aaron, what happened? My cousin Xsmyv got the Tuyo role that was meant for Keisha."
"I heard from the producer, Ernest King. He said that the President of Star Media chose Xsmyv for the role."
Shante gasped in shock. "You mean the unknown CEO of Star Media?"
"Yes, no one knows who he is."
"But, how did Xsmyv know who he is? I am sure that girl is being kept by an old man."
Aaron chuckled. "We don't know if the CEO is an old man. Nevertheless, I have tried all I could, but Keisha did not get the Tuyo role. Be thankful you still have your role." Shante was perplexed.
Her mom, Claire, entered the room, and Shante narrated everything to her.
"Now that she has moved out, she's showing her true colors."
"Mum, don't worry. I will trample on her and make sure I suppress her in this industry."
"That's my girl. We must teach that girl a lesson."
"Mum, how is De Richards Hotel? I hope Mr. Frank is managing it well?"
"Don't worry; everything is going well. We need the shareholders and management to be on our side. I will make sure your dad doesn't give the hotel to Xsmyv."
Mother and daughter smiled at their scheme. "Come on now, the driver is ready to take us to the mall; we need to get clothes for A.D. Group's annual party."
"Aaron will bring the access cards for us, Mother. Not everyone can get into A.D. Group's party."
Both mother and daughter giggled. They had been eager to mingle with the top echelons in Ligalia and saw this as a good opportunity.
Xsmyv and Jesse were having their sumptuous breakfast. She watched Jesse as he ate. His eating etiquette was impeccable, she thought. She admired his handsome facial features, especially his attractive eyes.
"Is something on my face?" Jesse asked, noticing Xsmyv's intense gaze.
Caught in the act, Xsmyv looked down at her food and continued chewing. She needed to inform him about her upcoming shoot in a few days.
"I got a role to produce a work with Star Media," she said.
"Are you signed with Star Media?" Jesse inquired.
"No, but I hope they would sign me. The production of the movie is owned by Star Media, and very few stars from different agencies auditioned."
Jesse took a mental note and sent a text to Lazarus to arrange a contract for his wife.
"My company has an annual dinner, and I would like for you to come with me," he said.
"I don't want to make our relationship public yet. I am just starting my career, and I don't want people to attribute my success to who you are," Xsmyv explained.
Jesse stared at her with furrowed brows. He placed a black card on the table.
"This is for you; get yourself a dress. You are attending the dinner with me. I will pick you up by 7 pm."
Before Xsmyv could say anything, he walked out of the house.
