Xsmyv ignored Shante's tantrums and waited for Jesse's reply.
Jesse, in a meeting, received Xsmyv's message. He wondered if she contacted him for just Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand. His reply assured her that the card was hers, with unlimited spending.
"You see, I told you she cannot afford it," Shante remarked.
The salesgirl and others observed Xsmyv, questioning her ability to purchase the dress without enough money. Cecilia defended her, questioning Shante's judgment.
Claire, unable to tolerate Cecilia's words, raised her voice for everyone to hear, claiming that Xsmyv couldn't afford it and accusing her of associating with old men. Xsmyv retorted, snickering at her aunt's accusations.
"At least I am not begging the richest families for recognition, neither am I fawning at their crumbs," Xsmyv declared. She confidently approached the counter, revealing her black card.
"I will pay with this," she asserted.
Mother and daughter were shocked to see the black card. The salesgirl processed the payment, packaging the dress for Xsmyv. After completing the transaction, Xsmyv left with Cecilia, ignoring the astonished faces of Shante and her mother.
"Is that a black card that Xsmyv is holding?" Shante questioned.
"I saw it too. I am sure she is being kept by an old man," Claire added.
"Remember I told you I saw her entering a fancy car the other day, and Aaron said Star Media is signing her up. She must know one of the old fat directors."
Cecilia, surprised by the black card, remarked, "My bestie now has a black card," teasing Xsmyv.
"My husband gave me this card," Xsmyv proudly stated.
"I think he is treating you right. Do you know a black card is not limited? I saw the shocking expression on your aunt and cousin. It suits them. How dare they belittle you. I am so happy you have someone now."
"Don't worry, Cecilia. I can fight my battles." Xsmyv assured her friend.
Outside, Jasper waited by the car, bowing as he opened the door for Xsmyv. Cecilia looked him over and shook her head, clearly impressed. She turned to Xsmyv with a question. "So… what exactly does your husband do?"
Xsmyv hesitated, not wanting to overwhelm her friend. "Um, well, he's a businessman."
"What kind of business?"
"Oh, you know, he owns a company." Xsmyv kept her answer vague, hoping not to invite too much curiosity.
Cecilia glanced at her friend, sensing there was more to the story, but decided not to push. She trusted Xsmyv would share the details when she was ready.
For now, Xsmyv chose to focus on her acting career, making money, and, most importantly, taking care of her uncle. Everything else could wait.
