Beads of sweat formed on Su Yue's forehead as she lay on the bed. The frown on her face and her constant muttering were a result of the nightmare that had taken hold of her. In her dream, she stood before her paternal family, and the setting was vividly described, an imposing family estate filled with tension.
"You are useless, just like your father." her grandfather, Su Chenggong, said as he regarded her with disdain, as though she were no more than trash.
"Grandfather, please, you can't do this to me. I did my best. I worked very hard to get this company to where it is today," Su Yue begged, her voice tremulous.
"Pearls and jade in the front, pigs and dogs in the back...If it wasn't for Xin'er, the Su family would have been ruined," Su Chenggong said as he signaled for the guards, emphasizing the familial disgrace she was bringing upon them.
Su Yue looked at her cousin, Su Xin'er, who had a condescending smile on her face. It didn't take long for Su Yue to realize what had happened. She had always been warned about her kind-hearted cousin, but she had disregarded those warnings.
"Grandfather, what about Su Xicheng? He's still a member of the Su family. Please," Su Yue implored. Right now, she didn't have time to confront Su Xin'er. All she could think about was the future of her son.
"What about him? Do you think I want to curse the Su family by allowing your son to live here as a member of this family?" Su Chenggong scoffed. "He has the blood of a common restaurant owner. How can I let that filth mix with the Su family? I thought that I already saved the Su family by getting rid of his twin sister when she was born. Since the boy has your blood, my Su family is doomed," Su Chenggong replied, his voice dripping with disdain.
Su Yue's shock was written all over her face. What daughter? What twin?
"Take her away," Su Gong, Su Yue's uncle, who had been standing and listening to everything that was said, ordered. Su Yue finally understood what was happening. It seemed that her uncle, his wife, and daughter had planned this whole thing. The guards who had been ordered grabbed Su Yue and tossed her out of the Su family house.
"What daughter? ... Xicheng... my son," Su Yue muttered as she lay on the ground, like a madwoman. "Xi Sijue," Su Yue said as she stood up. Xicheng was also his son. Su Yue hailed a cab. "Yue's corporate office." The driver nodded and began the journey. During the ride, Su Yue's thoughts were on the daughter she never even knew existed.
"What are you doing?!" the driver yelled as he tried to avoid a car, but unfortunately, they collided with a truck, resulting in a ghastly accident. Suddenly, Su Yue woke up, drenched in cold sweat, back in her own bed.
