Xi Sijue quickly exited the car and hurried toward Su Yue.
"Yue'er," he said as he gently helped her into the back seat.
He swiftly moved to the driver's seat and sped off.
Few hours later, they arrived at the hospital. The hospital was a private one which was owned by the Su family.
Su Yue was taken to the labor room while Xi Sijue was asked to wait outside the labor room.
Few minutes later, the Su family's doctor arrived and was preparing for the labor.
"Call Second Master Su and inform him that his niece is going into labor," Doctor Li instructed a nurse, who promptly rushed outside to relay the message to Su Gong.
Upon hearing Doctor Li's instruction to inform Su Gong, Su Yue felt a fresh wave of tension engulf her.
"Sijue...please bring Xi Sijue here," she implored, her voice trembling, tears spilling from her eyes. She couldn't risk the nightmare she'd experienced turning into a reality.
"Who's that?" Doctor Li inquired.
"My husband...he's outside," Su Yue replied.
Doctor Li's face darkened slightly upon hearing this. The presence of Su Yue's husband had the potential to disrupt his plan. Despite the agonizing pain she was enduring, Su Yue keenly observed the doctor's frown, sensing that something was amiss.
"Miss Su, He's not a medical professional, it's not possible to let him inside. Please try to understand," Doctor Li explained.
Su Yue shook her head and insisted
"Bring my husband here...I want to see him now..."
Doctor Li couldn't find any valid reason to refuse Su Yue's request, so he agreed and instructed the nurse to contact Xi Sijue.
Meanwhile, Lin Jiali, Lin Guang, along with two of Xi Sijue's cousins, Nie Huoyan and Nie Meimei, arrived at the hospital, as Xi Sijue had informed them over the phone.
"Sijue....Sijue," Lin Jiali rushed to her son's side.
"How is she doing at the moment?" Lin Jiali asked, her voice heavy with concern.
"I'm not sure... they won't permit me to enter," Xi Sijue replied.
"Mr. Xi," a nurse called from a few meters away. "Your wife is asking for you."
Xi Sijue's body tensed as he heard the statement. What could have happened?
He was then asked to wash his hands, a request he promptly obeyed. The nurse provided him with hand gloves and a face mask, after which he proceeded into the labor room.
Upon entering, he saw Su Yue, her body glistening with sweat, screaming in the midst of her efforts to push the baby into the world. Xi Sijue moved to her side and gently took her hand.
"Yue'er," he said softly, his eyes fixed on the intense scene before him. He felt utterly helpless, unable to alleviate her pain.
He listened to Su Yue's cries and couldn't help but blame himself. If he had only controlled himself that night, she wouldn't be in this agonizing situation. But at the same time, he couldn't bring himself to regret it.
