Just what is happening? What is this thing?" Axel demanded, his expression filled with anger as he glared at the large screen before him.
Ding!
(Now that all five players are present, I will introduce myself again)
"Yeah, the day we've all been waiting for," Livi groaned, rolling her eyes.
Ding!
(I am the Chess Game System and I will be your guide for all game levels.)
"What exactly is the Chess Game System? Are we playing a game of chess on board? If so, I never said I was interested, so why am I here?" asked a fair, slender lady with long ombre hair falling freely down her shoulders.
Axel didn't bother to look at where the question came from, his eyes remained fixed on the screen, uninterested in anything else happening around him.
Ding!
(The members present are dead in your original world and have transmigrated into the game world in order to return back alive to your original world.)
(And you won't be playing chess on boards, but playing with an opponent.)
"Oh, that explains it," murmured Axel, folding his hands.
Ding!
(Only those who are able to pass all games will be able to leave the game world. I wish you all good luck.)
(Note: Failure to win a game equals death, and failure to reject participating in a game will also result in death.)
"What?! What the heck!" exclaimed Rian, his expression enraged as he stared at the screen.
"What opponents are we playing against? Are they humans like us too?" questioned Livi, her eyebrows furrowed at the system.
Ding!
(Your opponent will be revealed at the game center.)
(Hurry up and change into the scrubs present in Ward 53, you wouldn't want to fail even before trying, right? Thirty minutes remaining to assembly at the stadium, players!)
At least Axel now had some understanding of the game world. He had to pass all the games in order to return to the original world. He may have died before, but he now had a chance to come back alive and seek revenge on all members of the black cult.
Every player began moving towards Ward 53, with Axel following until they were all inside the ward.

The walls of Ward 53 were painted dark and were much larger than a normal ward. The only thing that could be seen in the ward was a large wooden table placed in the middle of the room, with boxes placed on top.
Axel knew that hospital wards usually had beds and various medical tools, but this ward was different. He wasn't surprised though. The moment he set foot into the hospital, he wasn't met with the smell of antiseptic or disinfectant. Instead, he was accompanied by the smell of cigarettes and various alcoholic beverages.
The players moved closer to the table and sighed heavily at the sight before them. There were boxes of different colors placed on the wooden table, each box boldly displaying a player's name.
Ding!
(Hurry up and change into the scrub present in a box that has your name written on it.)
Without wasting any time, every player began undressing in the same room and opened the boxes with their names on them, changing into the scrubs.
"Wow! That's a lot of tattoos and muscles too, hottie," exclaimed Livi as she stared at Axel, who was already shirtless, revealing his abs and perfectly well-structured body, causing the other lady in the room to gasp for breath.
Livi proceeded and moved closer to Axel, who showed no interest in her whatsoever. She stood in front of him, fully naked, with her well-rounded breasts pointing at him.
"Do the tattoos have any meaning?" Livi asked, smiling as she pointed to the tattoos.
"Yeah, so...?" questioned Axel, inspecting his scrub as if trying to find any hidden weapon in it.
"What are the meanings, baby?" Livi asked seductively, running her hands down Axel's body, causing him to raise up his head from his scrubs and locked gaze with Livi.
"Numbers of those I've killed," Axel replied coldly, with no sign of emotion, satisfied wity the fear evident in Livi's eyes, he soon broke gaze with her, directing his gaze back to his scrub.
"I better get going," Livi said, not waiting for Axel's reply before leaving hurriedly.
Axel smirked at Livi's departure, watching her walk towards the other players. He proceeded to change into the blue scrub and followed the other players out of the ward, making their way out of the hospital and onto the city road.
Ding!
(The game will take place at the National Stadium. Hurry!)
Throughout the journey, Livi never approached Axel. She walked with the other players, completely ignoring him as if he didn't exist.
This was exactly what Axel wanted. He wasn't interested in a strange woman, and he didn't want any distractions. He had a goal to fulfill and he wouldn't let anything or anyone get in his way.

Unlike the express road, the stadium was bustling with life. Twenty people, also dressed in blue scrubs, were present and it seemed like they were also there for the game.
"Wow! We aren't the only ones on Earth after all!" exclaimed a tall man with dreadlocks. He was part of the group of players, and Axel only noticed him now that he spoke. He was the guy who was had sex with Livi in the hospital earlier.
"And what are those?" Livi asked, drawing everyone's attention to the large metal table placed in the middle of the stadium.
Moving closer, the table displayed various dangerous instruments: guns, daggers, axes, spanners, knives, arrows and bows, swords.
Ding!
(All players are entitled to pick any weapon of their choice.)
"What the heck? Are we fighting a war?" asked Rian, his expression furious as he stared at the weapons on the table.
"Are you also here for the game?" Rian asked a young girl with short blonde hair from the opposing group.
"Of course! The system must have explained that to you, right? What is a young girl like you doing in the game world? Who is so cruel to kill such a young girl like you in the real world?" Rian questioned, his expression filled with pity as he knelt down in front of the girl, gently combing through her hair with his fingers.
The other players paid no attention to the drama unfolding between Rian and the young girl. They were growing impatient and just wanted the game to start.
Ding!
(Pick any weapon of your choice, dear players.)
Without wasting any time, every player began selecting their weapons. Axel chose his favorite weapon, an axe, and held it firmly in his hand.
Hours turned into minutes, minutes turned into seconds, and the game still hadn't started. All the players were growing impatient and silently cursing the system.
"Where is the opponent?" Livi demanded, her expression furious.
Ding!
(The game starts now! Your opponent, Mia, is here!)
The system announcement was followed by laughter from a lady who appeared in front of the players. She was dressed in a red scrub, her hair tied in a ponytail, and a cunning smile on her lips.
"That lady is our opponent?" Livi questioned with a scornful look, surprised that they were going to be playing against such a seemingly weak woman.
Ding!
(First game: Running for Survival)
A hundred people emerged from a corner and stood behind the slim lady known as Mia.
The people standing behind her didn't look human; they were monsters with sharp teeth, ready to tear into anything that crossed their path.
"What the hell are those?" Livi asked, her expression startled. "They look like monsters, like zombies."
"Guess that's what we're fighting against. No wonder we were told to choose weapons earlier," Axel thought, his expression fierce as he tightly gripped the axe in his hand.
Ding!
(Players should make sure to run away from the zombies without getting bitten.)
(Note: Once you're bitten, you will be transformed into a zombie)
