Karan almost bumped into something in front of him, since Eliza had been distracting Karan from concentrating on driving the car. The girl was babbling incoherently, as she was in too much pain from the bleeding that was happening to her.
Throughout the journey, she continued to grimace in pain. She kept blaming Karan for what happened to her. The pain of an unhealthy sexual relationship and the hurt of his betrayal.
"I am fine, don't take me to the hospital. Let's just go home, Karan."
"But you are bleeding, don't you..."
Puk!
Eliza slammed her hand right on Karan's muscular arm. Before Karan could utter any crazy words and accusations, Eliza had already sworn at him.
"What are you thinking? Bleeding because you took my virginity? You crazy, insane man."
"Why do you keep saying I'm crazy and insane. I was clearly in my right mind when I married you, Eliza."
"If you were a man in your right mind, of course you wouldn't let your wife suffer pain during intercourse. You only think about your own satisfaction, but don't think about whether or not your wife is comfortable with your actions. You bastard!"
Eliza still couldn't believe that the man she believed would make her happy after marriage and would never commit treason was nothing more than a land crocodile. A man who is not satisfied with just one woman.
Unlike Karan, he didn't think he was betraying his wife. For Karan, a man is not guilty of having more than one woman in his life.
"Hey, isn't polygamy halal and monogamy haram? I mean, there's nothing wrong if I have more than one woman."
"Karan!!! What are you saying is not wrong? Don't you think about my feelings as your wife when you do such things? And one more thing, why that girl? Why did it have to be that girl you cheated on me with?"
Eliza cried, she couldn't stand Karan's behaviour anymore, the more patience she gave him, the more he looked casual and arrogant. Whatever he did felt right to him, even though it was very painful for the woman he was currently with.
Karan didn't want to know, he kept on justifying himself. He wasn't wrong, Ryn was just a tool to fulfil his desires when he couldn't get satisfaction from Eliza.
"Are you really giving me satisfaction, El? Get real, you're supposed to give me satisfaction in bed. You don't, so it's not my fault if you seek fulfilment with another woman."
"Satisfaction you say? Do you understand how I feel, Karan. A husband's relationship is built on mutual consent, not dominated by one of us. You dominate a game without thinking I like it or that I am in pain while doing it."
"What do you think the core hurts, El? That's just your feeling, there is no pain during intercourse. If that's true, how come Ryn never cries when we have sex."
Karan closed his mouth, not realising that he was telling Eliza the truth that he had indeed been in a relationship with Ryn for quite some time. Not just an ordinary relationship, but more than a relationship.
Hearing you being honest without being asked, Eliza's heart was torn apart even more. How was she going to accept the harsh reality that Karan had made her self-esteem fall. For Karan, a woman is enough if she is given money and facilities.
That's what he did for Eliza, not to mention Ryn. He did not love either woman sincerely. Karan only wanted satisfaction, while with Eliza he needed a status so as not to be considered an unmarketable bachelor.
"Do you think a woman would be silenced by Karan's wealth?"
"Yes, of course. You like what I give you don't you? I mean, all those luxuries and facilities I did for you. As a woman, you just follow what I want."
"So, you think you've been buying me all this time with your spare change? Until you didn't think about my feelings. You made promises and gave me confidence that you really loved me."
"There is no such thing as a truly sincere love, Eliza. Don't narrow yourself with that kind of thinking. Still, a man needs a woman for both biological and other satisfactions."
Eliza seemed to see Jacob in Karan's form. Or she was Jacob disguised as a man named Karan. What her father did then, her husband was doing now.
She almost didn't believe it, but that was the reality she was facing. Jacob left, leaving her and her mother for another woman. He found fulfilment and happiness out there for the sake of wealth and position.
What Karan did was no doubt an insult. He underestimates the dignity of women, it's like a repeat of the colonial era when women were there to be used. If they are no longer useful, they can be destroyed.
Eliza cried, not caring whether Karan would like her crying or not. Eliza just wanted to let out her emotions.
"Karan, put me down here!"
"No! What are you getting off in the middle of the road for? Are you really out of your mind? Your skirt is full of blood, is that what people say?"
"Put me down, or shall I jump from here?"
Karan applied the brakes impromptu, for some reason Eliza was now making more threats than complying with Karan's wishes. For safety's sake, Karan chose to stop the car.
Eliza got out of the car full of resentment. Her heart did not want to look at Karan anymore, causing her to regret getting married and agreeing to marry Karan. If she had known that Karan would end up betraying her.
A man who is kind and willing to accept his shortcomings, he does not look at Eliza in terms of wealth. However, she could not believe that it was all a sham.
"If I had known this would be the ending, Karan. I'd rather never marry you and work as your employee than be a slave to your lust."
"Never mind El, let's not talk about it anymore. Let's talk about it at home. I promise I'll be honest with you, but please don't be so angry. Everyone is looking down on us."
Eliza agreed to talk at home. Finally, Karan managed to get Eliza to come home with him. Although throughout the journey Eliza still looked upset.
After they arrived home, there was still no conversation. Eliza did not want to talk to Karan. In Eliza's heart there was only one thing, separation.
After what happened in the marriage and what Eliza saw in the office, there was nothing she could do but walk away from Karan. Rather than endure the pain and disappointment any longer.
"El, talk to me. Don't keep me like this."
"What do we need to talk about Karan? You just need to explain, are you in a relationship with her or not?"
"Then, if you are. Why?"
