Alexandra had wavy hair. It coiled and bounced when she ran, twirled and swirled with her laugh. As the only child of the countdom, she was a treasure among treasures. Due to her mothers infertility, Alexandra was a blessing. Jewelled deep eyes described as diamonds from her mother, shiny, red hair that framed her face from her father, two beauty marks under both eyes, since birth she was reknown for her striking features.
Alexandra's parents held high expectations for their young daughter, they wanted her to become a scholar, a mage, a worthy woman to inherit the countdom.
Although, unlike her parents, a father who, as a warrior, used magic to win the war for his kingdom and her mother, a scholar and a mage who researched and experimented with the body and mana relations, Alexandra was nothing but disappointing.
She couldn't summon any mana in her body, even the easiest of spells was tricky for her to do, and due to her weak body she was constantly sick, the magic straining her. Along with her lack of magic she couldn't grasp basic concepts within english, math or even art. Many nobles joked her only skill in life would be to look pretty.
In a way, they were true.
Alexandra had nothing exceptional about her. She was average.
The countess and count, although disappointed, loved their daughter and tried to ease her into studies, but she couldn't do it.
Alexandra, filled with anger about her incompetence, threw tantrums and pity parties about her abilities. Maids were often switched out because of her anger, and often she would cry for hours. Alexandra didn't have many friends due to her outbursts.
The countess and count after a certain amount of time, turned their backs on Alexandra. The countess loved her daughter, but since birth, Alexandra was at a disadvantage, and due to her incompetence, she was useless. To her father, Alexandra was a disappointment from the start, being born a woman meant he would need to trust the mansion and business to a son-in-law. Something he didn't want to do.
Tragedy fell on the mansion on fateful fall.
Alexandra was lost.
She was playing outside with her maid, Lily. The wind blew on Alex, pushing her hair in all directions. Leafs fell and Alex played in piles. Lily smiled as they dressed dolls on a picnic blanket.
Alex had looked at Lily, big, beady eyes full of curiosity. "Lily, there is a festival soon?"
Lily smiled. There was one every year that celebrated the harvest season. Food vendors, dances and bars were open and running all night, prizes were given out and children played all day before the night fell. It was a yearly thing that Lily's family attended.
"Yes there is. Are you thinking of asking the Count to go this year, my lady?" Lily tucked her dress under her legs. The breeze was cold and chilly, and Lily forgot a coat.
"I'm thinking of it, I don't think father will let me go, though." Alexandra pouted, she was putting new clothes on her doll. "He never lets me do much."
Lily smiled. "Maybe if I take you, we can go together." A sudden gust of wind hit, scattering all of Alexandra's dolls clothing across the garden, the pieces getting stuck in bushes, trees and puddles. Lily stood up.
"Wait here, my lady, I'll grab them." She smiled and turned her back to grab the clothes. There was another breeze and Lily shivered. "My lady, may we pack up and move insi-"
Alexandra was gone. Her doll laying on the folded over blanket.
She had vanished.
