Verona knew that Emily would be involved in sending such a risky text. She hadn't even given her mind any chance to doubt that she called Emily the next day and asked that they meet up.
Emily sat with her legs crossed as she stared at Verona. They were at the same restaurant where they met up the day before.
"Have you suddenly missed me that you've called me here again?" deep down, Emily had been a bit worried. Despite all of her close watch on Jake, they still hung out secretly. And she certainly didn't want Verona to know that.
Just that morning, Jake had taken both Emily and her mother for a big shopping. Then, they hung out and talked in their secret hideout along with Jeremy and Lara.
Now that Verona was here, she feared she had caught up with her lies at last.
"I know it was you. How long do you think you can keep up with the pretense?" Verona snapped.
Emily frowned, wondering what she was talking about.
