"Woah…" Marv looked up at Nandi as she leaned against the door.
"It is a complex situation" Nandi let out a bitter laugh.
Marv saw the pain behind Nandi's eyes for the first time. "More complex than our current situation?" she asked, slowly trying to pull the information out of her.
Nandi was silent for a moment. Marv could see she debated with herself, wondering if she should tell her. "her people slaughter my people," she paused. Her eyes were distant and cold. Marv was in utter shock. "She would have killed me too, but she…" Nandi's eyes widened at the memory.
Marv could see the pain she was reliving, the trigger that came with telling just an inch of the story. "Oh, so a Romeo and Juliet type of complex," Marv tried to lighten the mood.
"Yeah" Nandi whispered, her usual strong confident shoulders were gone. "I will give you so much privacy," she said before leaving the room.
