Marv woke up to Noah laying his head on his arm. He lay on his stomach with his legs moving back and forth. His cheerful smile was so bright in the altar room that he seemed too happy to be in the place they were in. Marv lay on her side. She could feel the blood training from her skull and she felt relief, like the pressure had been released.
"Marvelous" Noah gave her a deadpan look. "This is not how it works," he said, turning his face sideways. "Get up….
Marv opened her eyes to see Arjun sitting on her bed. The room is so bright with long wide windows, cream-colored walls, and pine floor, that it hurts Marv's eyes, so she tries to focus them on Arjun. She shifted in the bed when she realized she had a bandage on her forehead. She touched it but Arjun grabbed her hands and shook his head.
