Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Dinner was a harsh ordeal to go through, every kid in the dinning room had this look on their face, some were scared, others were perplexed by the others, since just a couple of kids witnessed what happened at the garden.

As he walked through the moldy and dusty hallway, Allen wondered what he was supposed to do next.

"First thing first, probably try to get that light come out of my hands again" He thought, as bad as the situation is, he couldn't just let it go and act as if nothing happened, the other kids wouldn't let it slide either.

Allen walked along the creaky floor of his room and sat down on his faded bed. He recounted the events of what happened that evening, from Ms Sarah telling her to go and socialize with the other kids up to where the light shoot from his hands.

Nothing out of the ordinary when he remembered the walk from his room to the garden, nothing either when he talked with the kids, it was exactly when the ball was about to hit him, the memories from his death and his family death came rushing, as much as he didn't want to remember that, the ball coming straight to his head overlapped with the hammer that hit his head.

The memories flooded again into his mind, causing his stomach to plummet and his heart to ache with a familiar pain. His hand instinctively pressed against his chest, as if trying to quell the rising emotions. Frustration welled up within him, a horrible reminder of the unfair circumstance that stuck with him since being reborn, he tried to forget, to let time heal, but it wasn't possible.

As tears fell down his cheek, a green light shone from his hand, unable to understand the situation, he pulled his hand as fast as possible from him. Shocked by the situation, all he could do is stare at the hand with the green glow, after three seconds it disappeared. The restlessness of his heart disappeared, his erratic breath that he didn't even notice stabilized.

After a moment of being speechless and looking back and forth from his hands and chest, he slumped down on the faded bed, legs still touching the ground, he raised his hands to his face blocking the dim light of the room, then a soft laugh left his mouth, gradually increasing a bit until it stopped.

He let a loud sigh escape from his mouth, cleaned the dry tears off his face, even if it hurt it was necessary to let it out, it will always hurt, but it can hurt a little bit less.

Now he understands, not only how this "power" works, but also that he needs to heal from what happened.

"Emotions" He whispered. "The more intense, the stronger it is, it brings this "light" out, and it's not only a type of psychic power, but from what just happened, it can also do other stuff" Now it was just a matter of practice, until he can get it right.

For the first time in years, excitement ran through him, he raised his arm, tightening his muscles as he clenched his hand in a determined fist, a new purpose in sight, ignited a fire within him. The mastery of these powers is gonna be a long and arduous path, but nothing in life was easy, right?
