"These ear rings? heck, you've got the wrong guy. This stuff was given to me by my master" Drew huffed, feingning annoyance.
But Boss Jay just smiled.
"Once, there was a very powerful clan, the Wu Tang clan. They ruled over the world, owning various conglomerates. If somebody claimed the Wu Tang clan held ninety percent of the whole world's resources, no one would argue back" Boss Jay began explaining, his face litting up with unconcealed pride.
Drew was inwardly shocked. Ninety percent of the world's resources. That was just insane!
"However, the most shocking part was the Grand Patriarch of the clan. He was so mysterious and powerful that he alone could control the clan. Nobody dared thought of revolting against him. He was so amazing that rumors claimed he was the sole reason the Wu Tang clan could stand so powerful. He had like an unlimited supply of wealth, and his strength was without equal. By only shaking his hands, countries would tremble"
"At that time, he could do as he wanted and the Global Parliament had to bend to his wishes"
Drew could no longer take it.
"How could one individual could be so terrifying? it's.. it's somehow hard to believe!"
The global parliament was an alliance consisting of all the governments of top countries and powerful big shots. Yet an individual could make them bend to his will.
Drew didn't dare dream of reaching such a level even with the help of the system!
"It is true. If you do a little thorough investigation, you will find out that i am not falsifying my words!" Boss Jay argued solemnly.
Drew fell back speechless. At that time, he heard Rollie's voice in his head.
-[He is speaking the truth. The person he's talking about was once an host to the system. However, it's a shame that he could only use the tiniest fraction of the system's full capabilities. At most five percent]
Drew cussed. He had a strong urge to beat up the female A.I.
Wasn't she literally saying he was a country bumpkin?!
"But.." Boss Jay sighed sadly, as if recalling something.
"The grand patriarch suddenly vanished like a mist. At first the situation was under control. But with time, many clan members and members of the Global parliament began to set their eyes on the wealth amassed by the clan. Like hungry wolves, they tore the clan into shreds, going their separate ways with the clan's resources and establishing their own families and sects"
"However, a group of staunch supporters didn't lose hope, believing the grand patriarch would make a grand come back, thus they re-established the Wu Tang clan, albeit the current Wu Tang clan is miles apart from the one in the past"
At that moment, the Waiter arrived. Walking besides him was a chubby middle aged man with a face riddled with pimples and a tailor suit that looked like latex jacket to him.
Behind them were a group of chefs, pushing a trolley filled with a variety of dishes and wine.
"Respected sirs. I am the manager of this restaurant" the chubby manager was at loss at who to pay respect to.
The young man in expensive clothing?
Or the intimidating middle aged man.
"It's nice to meet you, mr. Manager" Drew smiled warmly.
Boss Jay wanted to retort that he shouldn't mingle with commoners but held his tongue at the last moment.
He had no right to correct the Grand Patriarch.
"I Heard that respected sirs graced my restaurant with their presence. I am completely honoured" the chubby manager bowed down with much difficulty.
"We just came here to eat" Drew stole a glance at Boss Jay.
"Then i won't disturb respected sirs"
The chubby man and the waiter tactically took their leave while the chefs arranged the dishes.
Along the way, the chubby manager patted the waiter on the shoulder.
"Seventy percent increase in your pay check"
That evening, Drew stuffed himself up that to move became a very difficult task. Since they could only eat thirty percent of the dishes.
They gave the rest to the customers, who showered them with endless thanks.
Boss Jay dropped Drew at his family log house and respectfully bid him goodbye.
The next day, Boss Jay arrived at the door of the log house, landing two soft knocks on the wooden door.
Victoria happened to be the one to answer. When Boss Jay saw her, he immediately fell on his knees.
"This lowly one didn't know the identity of the old madam. I beg for her forgiveness!" he bawled, while grabbing Victoria's leg.
It was as if he wouldn't let go of her leg if she didn't forgive him.
Sigh. Victoria pulled her up.
"Don't worry yourself. I hold no grudge against you" how could she hold a grudge against her son's subordinate.
A few minutes later, a group of five were having breakfast of beef, bread and milk syrup at the dining table.
"So Drew dear, what are your future plans?" Victoria asked, dipping a loaf of bread into the bowl of milk syrup.
"I was planning on going back to thd sub urbs of the city. There ard things to do"
"But now that i saw what happened yesterday, i plan on taking you back with me. The villiagd dosen't look so conducive"
Diego nodded his head. He agreed with Drew's words.
Who knew if another tysant like Boss Jay would appear?
Plus, he was already missing the sub urbs.
"Fine. I'll go with you" Victoria didn't reject.
"That's great. Though i'll contact some contractors to build a house here. In the summer, we could spend some time here" Drew revealed his plans for the future.
Having said this, he had Boss Jay use his connection to hire a group of poultry attendants.
Thanks to the offer of six thousand dollars per month, many people showed up for the job.
Since Drew had zero interest in such matters, he left everything into Amelia's hans and ran off to catch up with his family.
Looking around, he found Diego reading an action novel in his room.
Hearing the sound of his door creaking, Diego spoke without looking up from the novel he was reading.
"And here i was thinking you've forgotten me for good"
Drew smiled bitterly as he made his way in. After recieving the system, he started experiencing a lot, ridding him of some free time.
"How can you say that! although i'm rich, it has nothing to do with our friendship. You will always be my best bud!"
Diego looked up, flashing Drew with a gratifying smile. His eyes turning a little bit misty.
"So, won't you ask me how i achieved all these? don't tell me you believed all the bullshit i told my mum" Drew punched Diego's arm playfully.
"That's your secret. Why should i pry into it?" Diego shrugged.
"Thanks man"
Drew felt thankful for having such a compassionate and reliable friend. Even after he fell into coma, Diego didn't hesistate to take care of his mother.
"From now on, i won't let you suffer again my dear friend" Drew swore in his heart.
"So bro. Are you still interested in pursuing a music career? your voice was top notch back in college"
"Yeah. But i don't have money to go to the studio and record songs. Plus i have to pay for production and distribution. It's too costly"
Drew smirked, flinging the book Diego was reading, away.
"No money? how can you say that when you have a rich friend now?"
