Veronica Cedar didn't end with just talking. She stretched out the sheer pic to shovel the plastic bucket into the fish pond. No
she kept not a single fish.
Jade Springfield narrowed her eyes. Cold fury was building under her gaze.
"Every day you fish here, and every time you bring cusu so much fish. Now that you've caught everything, what do we have left? This fish pond belongs to the Alpine Village. What makes you think you can fish Lanto?" Veronica Cedar screeched, her voice carrying around.
Even if the others who were fishing around the pond thought Veronica Cedar was being unreasonable, they remembered every time Jade Springfield caught the most fish in the least amount of time. It was so infuriating. At that moment, they all chose to stand to the side and watch the scene unfold.
Jade Springfield sneered, sending a chilling glare at Veronica Cedar. "What makes me think I can? Just because you're incompetent!"
As soon as this was said out loud, Veronica Cedar had nothing more to refute.
Bun raised his small face to look at Jade Springfield, her eyes sparkling with hero worship. That was great!
"You-you..." Veronica Cedar raised a fat finger to the point at Jade Springfield, even the tip of her finger was trembling with rage. "Good! No matter what, I'm still your senior. How can you talk to me like that, how rude!"
"Whether I'm rude or not has absolutely nothing to do with you!" Jade Springfield turned her gaze to Bun. The fall she had just made of herself had left her knees and elbows covered in mud.
"Apologize."
"Huh? Me, apologize to him?!" Veronica Cedar had her hands on her hips, screaming as her saliva sprayed everywhere. Jade Springfield dragged Bun next to her, to keep from letting the saliva reach him.
When Veronica Cedar saw Jade Springfield's disgusted face, rage overwhelmed her. In a fit, she also kicked Jade Springfield's fishing rod into the fish pond.
Jade Springfield returned the gaze from the pond as she gazed calmly at Veronica Cedar. "You're not going to fish anymore
"ZEh? Hahaha..." Veronica Cedar chuckled in amusement at Jade Springfield's statement. Layers of her fat fluttered everywhere as she guffawed with laughter. "I'm not coming here anymore? Who do you think you are? This pond belongs to Alpine Village. It's not like you commissioned it anyway! I won't come back again? What a joke!"
Jade Springfield ignored Veronica Cedar's joke and took Bun's hand. "We're going home."
Bun looked down at the fish pond, the red plastic bucket visibly floating on the surface. He was a bit far away, so it didn't seem like much. And the fishing rod. The front half had sunk into the water, along with the fishing line.
"Don't worry, someone will fish it up and return it to us personally." Jade Springfield turned to look at Veronica Cedar before taking Bun's hand and heading home.
As Veronica Cedar watched Jade Springfield's figure leave, she continued to shoot her mouth. "You're the one who won't come back! Will someone take your bucket out?
As Veronica Cedar was saying this, she gave the fishing pole another stroke in the pond. At this point, all the sand reed in the pond.
On the way home, Jade Springfield took the phone from her and made a call.
At the Village Chief, Henry Winston's office, the landline phone began to ring.
"Hello?"
"It's you, Jade! What's the point of an early morning lan phone call?
"About the roadworks repairs I accepted
finance a few days ago, I revoked them," said Jade Springfield.
"What?!" Henry jumped to his feet.
Jade Springfield wasn't done yet. "And about the 'Recreational Fishing Tourism Plan' that we discussed before this, I don't plan to fund it either."
As Jade Springfield continued, Henry's expression tightened. The aged face of him was as bitter as a bitter melon.
"Jade, you brat. Didn't we agree on plans for road repairs and turistion development? Why the sudden change of heart?"
