Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Rude

Veronica Cedar felt that this sudden trap that loomed over her was surely the work of Jade Springfield. After all, her nephew looked so beautiful and elegant. Many of the village maidens dreamed of him, but the brat didn't feel anything for any of them.

If he had brought this to his brother's family before this, they would definitely have disapproved of it. However, things are different now, that Jade Springfield brat was able to commission the fish pond to the east.

When Henry used to drink and show off, he mentioned something about a 'Recreational Fishing Tourism Scheme', saying that he found a very generous benefactor to invest in it.

That fishing pond had already been commissioned by Jade Springfield. So if they put it on uction, then the pond would become a source of income...

Just as Veronica Cedar's mind raced, Jade Springfield's cold voice cut through her thoughts. "So? What's up with that?"

What did she mean by that? Did she just reject her? This was not possible!

She was the matchmaker, and she was marrying Jade Springfield to Monte Miller, a good-natured young man who taught in town. However, Jade Springfield did not flinch?

"Jade Springfield, you brat. Listen here, he—"

"Stay here any longer and you'll be kicked out of the fishpond for a year," Jade Springfield said with a frown. Her perfectly trimmed eyebrows clouded with annoyance.

"This" Veronica Cedar was about to beg, but Jade Springfield was clearly not in the mood. In the end, she could only leave feeling angry.

On the way back, Veronica Cedar thought to herself that spoiled Jade Springfield must still be furious. The Monte Miller boy was so handsome and educated. As for Jade Springfield, she was a wild girl who was abandoned by her family. She didn't even graduate from elementary school. With such a good match, she would have practically won the lottery.

Tonight she would go to her brother's house and tell the family that Jade Springfield was the one who commissioned the fish pond. When the time comes and this marriage is agreed upon, Jade Springfield would marry. So the fishing pond would belong to the Murrays, right?

The more she thought about it, the more excited she became. Veronica Cedar was so excited that she couldn't contain herself and she headed straight for her brother's house.

Bun was in the habit of taking a nap after meals. Shortly after lying on the bed, he fell into a deep sleep.

Jade Springfield was tucking Bun in a light blanket around his tummy when Iris Springfield and Betony Springfield entered, one behind the other.

"Clack, clack!" The sound of heels clicking woke Bun up. Bun was so surprised that the small frame of him trembled, then instinctively reached out to grab Jade Springfield's hand.

"Don't be afraid, it's okay. Go back to sleep." Jade Springfield kept her voice as soft and gentle as she could. She patted Bun with her hand a few times, only then did Bun fall back into her deep sleep.

Jade Springfield turned the fan to the lowest speed, creating a light breeze, and continued to put up the screen. Only then did he get out of her, closing the door behind her.

"What is it this time?" Jade Springfield snapped, annoyed.

At Jade Springfield's hostile tone, Iris Simpson's eyebrows immediately knitted in disgust. "Have you thought about what I said yesterday?"

"What was it again?" Jade Springfield looked at Iris Simpson. Her eyes made it clear that they were separated.

"About returning to the Imperial City," Iris Simpson emphasized.

"I'll go, but not with you." Jade Springfield walked over to the refrigerator and opened it. From the fridge at the bottom,

she took out a mung bean flavored sundae and began to

chew it.

Iris Simpson had already felt hot to begin with. There was only one electric fan in the living room; Jade Springfield didn't even have air conditioning. Now, with the sight of Jade Springfield eating ice cream, she couldn't help but swallow hard.

Betony Springfield wasn't the only one who wanted ice cream, even Iris Simpson would like ice cream to cool off. Seeing Jade Springfield eating ice cream by herself, she felt her displeasure increase.

How rude! Did she have the nerve to eat ice cream alone?
