Enyo dodged every hit Valerie sent her way. Valerie tried to uppercut and Enyo stepped back. Their classmates oohed and ahhed. Most of the girls were cheering for Valerie, of course. She noticed that many of the boys were actually cheering for her. Enyo smiled to herself, those beauty tips she learned from Naomi were working.
Naomi was Enyo's elder by 13 years. She was the second surviving experiment, experiment number 7. Her eyes shined like rubies and she was beautiful. Naomi was an expert at seducing, which made her an excellent spy.
Valerie tried to swing her legs from underneath and Enyo jumped up. This was kind of fun. She knew that Atlas would greatly disapprove of this, don't toy with your opponents, just kill them, he would say.
She could admit that if Valerie had a bit more training, probably from a real professional, she could be really successful… at assassination that is.
"Stop dodging!" shouted Valerie with anger.
"Make me," Enyo smiled back.
Valerie sent a straight punch and Enyo caught it and pushed her back. Valerie stumbled, almost out of the ring. She glared at Enyo and jumped forward. Aerial attack, Enyo thought to herself.
She readied herself, just the way Atlas taught her, squaring her hips and bracing. She ducked and twirled around Valerie, dodging and countering. She sent her fist at Valerie who narrowly dodged it.
Enyo smiled and ducked as Valerie sent a front kick at her. She swung her left leg under Valerie and she fell. "Enough!" said Mr Kim.
Enyo offered her hand to Valerie. Valerie ignored it and stood up. Enyo saw that sweat covered her forehead.
"Class dismissed," said Mr Kim.
Everyone filed out and Enyo followed them. Her backpack was heavier from all the textbooks she got that day.
"Come on," said a voice behind her.
She turned around and saw Max, "You're walking home with me today."
She smiled, "Thanks! I was afraid I would get lost!"
…
"What is wrong with you!" Hemlock shouted. The scarred half of his face made him look scarier than he was. "All I need from you is the location of Enyo!"
"I-I-I don't know" whimpered the person in front of him.
"AH!" screamed Hemlock in frustration, "Well I guess I don't need you anymore…"
"Please don't kill me!" begged the person.
"I won't," said Hemlock, the person relaxed, "Anaya will…"
The person screamed and begged as Hemlock walked away, replacing himself with Anaya. Anaya gave Hemlock a smile, "We'll find her, then we'll kill her!"
Hemlock gave her a smile, "I'm going to talk to Bat… maybe he heard something."
"Good luck," said Anaya, "You know he hates it when people ask him for info!"
Hemlock shrugged. Suddenly his phone pinged and he looked at him, "Lucky me! It seems that Bat has heard us!"
He opened the message, Go f*ck yourself, it said. "Never mind," said Hemlock, "I'm just going to talk him, man to man. "
Where are you? He texted back.
Ur mom's house.
Hemlock rolled his eyes, "When you're done Anaya, meet me in the garden, that's where Bat is."
No it's not! Yelled the next text message.
Hemlock grinned and walked to the garden. Behind him, screams echoed from the room.
Bat was 21 years old. He was the 31st experiment. Like his name, he was blind but his hearing was excellent. During his experiment, the doctors had done something wrong. His eyes were a cloudy red.
"Why can't you just give it up!" screamed Bat.
Hemlock covered his ears, "I need to find Enyo."
"Stupid," muttered Bat, "Just leave her alone. She's done enough. Don't drag her back into our lives. She's better off gone than with us."
"If you tell me I'll leave you alone for the rest of your life."
Bat perked up and pondered. He's actually considering it, thought Hemlock with a smile,
"Nope," said Bat, "You have more to offer than just silence. Plus your existence bothers me. You gonna stop existing for me?"
Hemlock sighed, "Fine, what do you want."
"Well," said Bat, "Silence from you and Anaya, of course. But also, I want you to give me poison number 76. I want the recipe and ingredients for enough to make three full bottles."
"What are you going to use it on?" asked Hemlock curiously.
"Quiet, or I won't tell you," grinned Bat.
Hemlock sighed, "Fine, I'll send it to your room tonight when it's ready."
Bat smiled and wrote something down on a slip of paper, "Here's her location, when you kill her, try not to cause too many explosions and casualties please?"
Hemlock shrugged, "No promises." He grabbed the slip of paper and looked down.
Sturt High School.
