Xiao Ming needed a new diary and realized he had run out of pages in his old one. It was already midnight when he decided to go out and buy a new diary. He hopped on his bicycle and ventured into the dark streets, searching for a bookstore that might still be open.
After a long search, he finally found a bookstore that hadn't closed for the night. Inside, he discovered a diary that caught his eye. He asked the store owner about the price. The old owner, speaking in a deep and eerie voice, replied, "This is an imported diary, and the regular price is 70 yuan."
Xiao Ming expressed his interest but mentioned, "I only have 50 yuan with me."
The store owner, in the same low and haunting tone, said, "That's fine; I'll let you have it for 50 yuan."
Xiao Ming was delighted and thanked the owner. However, the store owner spoke up one last time in that chilling voice, "When you go home, do not open the last page, or something terrifying will happen. Don't blame me for not warning you."
Xiao Ming replied, "Alright, I understand."
He brought the diary home, unwrapped it, and placed it on the table near the window in his room. His intention was to take a quick shower before starting to write in the diary.
After the shower, Xiao Ming returned to his room and was horrified to find the window open. The wind had blown the pages of the diary, one by one. As the pages fluttered, they reached the last page. Xiao Ming rushed forward to stop them, but it was too late. The last page opened, and to his shock, he saw: "Regular Price: 3 yuan."
Frightened and taken aback by the revelation, Xiao Ming let out a scream, as he realized he had been tricked by the eerie bookstore owner.
