SAMANTHA
"I wouldn't give you a blank check to ask about my life if you were just some fling I was exploring". I watched as he said each word to me.
Something in me refused to believe that I was not just another item but the dominant part of me was swooned and swayed by his words that sounded all but ingenuine.
I had asked most of the questions I pretty much had up my sleeves but somehow I felt no depth in his answers.
I also was too guilty to ask for depth cause I also did not give depth.
"Have you ever been in love?" The discomfort that question brought my way lacked the ability to be described.
Embedded in that question was one of my darkest secrets. A secret I would die protecting. A secret I would take to my grave.
Some years back I truncated the process to getting half the life I deserved because I wasn't ready to do what it took to get that life.
