Lea got as much out of her and quickly dressed up. The priority of their mission was to reach the base. Anything else could be thought up as a second.
The rift was a deserted place where only a few people roamed. But this place still had a familiar landscape. Lea could tell the second they reached the base camp because she could see the landscape changing.
Most of the lands under Rift's control were barren, with barely any vegetation. But the area where the military camp had been set up was a lush forest. It marked this area as fertile and one they could use.
"I never really asked this, but why do we need more water resources? Don't we have rivers already? We can just use this water for drinking, right?"
Maria asked with a confused look on her face.
As someone who had lived outside the protected city and faced the influence of the rift daily, she was used to drinking the river water.
