"So, what are we doing next? Is the battle over?"
Emily asked once she noticed that Ness would not return for some time. The hallway had fallen silent, and the burn marks on the walls made Emily nervous.
"Over? The battle had just started. That was only the first wave of monsters in a long war. This will not be over until we kill this siren hive's king and queen. You should brace yourself."
Sara informed with a sigh. She had never participated in a war before but heard stories and studied a lot. So, she had a solid idea of what needed to be done to win the war.
"That's it? Is killing some stupid king and queen all we need to do? Then this should be easy."
Emily only realised how foolish her words were once she finished speaking them.
If killing the king and queen was so easy, this fight would have been over before it started. There must be some trick that allowed the king and queen to hide away and protect themselves.
