Char's memory of seeing the blade demon.
It was in a distant place, not of this world. A group of disembodied illusory wills are holding a judgment, the surroundings are grotesque, the direction of time and space are meaningless, and the flesh and blood are crawling on the ground. As far as the eye can see, it is covered with barren rocks, barren and hot, and huge rivers of magma flow down from the sky, burning continuously, and huge lava like cities rise and fall in the fire, and gaseous substances are precipitated on the surface, and countless open flames erupt.
"You're out." A high-status invisible being sends the message, "We have rules here, and you don't follow them." Since you have started wars that you should not have started, and enjoyed sacrifices that you should not have enjoyed, you will have to bear the punishment that you should not have borne."
Other unembodied wills have also taken turns denouncing the Blade Demon for its offensive and blasphemous use of the realm.
"So this is your rule, sending a real demon into exile?" Shire felt the blade demon's anger and unwillingness, it struggled, but was constrained.
"Yes, not your projection, not your doppelganger, not your image, not your will, not your spirit, not your body, but the real you, all of you. We decided to expel your essence to that backward world. You will be safe there, where civilization is low, where creatures build cities of mud bricks, where the same race is divided into warring groups, fighting with projectiles and smelting metal, arrogantly believing that they have a right to dispose of everything in the world, wasting the present, and fearing the future."
"It doesn't sound any better than any other place crowded with intelligent life."
"You'll love it and you won't miss hell."
"But if I die there, I'll be utterly destroyed!" The Blade Demon begs, "I'll be back, won't I?"
"Of course, when your pieces come back, you'll be a wonderful memory in my Treasury."
"No -- don't do that."
"Very well, if you wish to plead with us, we will consider a leniency in your case." We cast your power in hell so that you can be reborn in hell."
"I do not beg... But you will regret it one day."
"Will we regret it? Well, mortal, what do you say? Do you think that Blade demon, can one day kill back to hell?" The invisible vision of the chaos supreme, above time and space, realized that Shire was sharing this memory and looked into Shire's mind.
It was a great horror to be perceived by that thing, and Shire trembled, and woke from fainting, hallucinations, and memories, and widened his eyes.
He saw the remains of the campstone as if it had been a lifetime, with blood all around, flames burning everywhere, and the bodies of other people lying on the ground. The forest at night was still dark and silent, and dark and frightening, but the Shire was no longer afraid.
His first reaction was to move his body and look down to find that his limbs and legs had been reborn, as if by miracle.
"My body..." Char turned his hands and feet. For the first time, he felt the joy of being whole. Every finger looked precious now. He touched his skin to make sure it was real and not an illusion.
It's good to be alive.
He was now naked, with everything on him destroyed in the previous impact.
And so on... There was still something left, Char stroking his neck, the emerald gold necklace still hanging there, heavy.
There is the magic rope, Etienne's magic rope left on the ground, this may be the only relic of the old hunter, Charles will pick it up, thinking of the old hunter's sacrifice felt a blank.
With mixed feelings, he went to the dead Valen, who still had the crossbow stuck in his face, looking miserable, his mouth open, his eyes glazed, his face bleeding, and whatever his temper and rank in life, he would be mortified in death.
Charles took off Warren's black cloak and wrapped it around his waist to hide his shame.
"Is it human shame to not want to expose your reproductive organs to the air?" The voice of the blade demon sounded in the heart of the shire.
The Blade demon! It's still there! It's here with me... It's in my heart! Char's heart beat wildly. Does it blend in with me? Where is it?
"Oh, I can feel what you're thinking, and yes, I'm here with you now. Let's make it official. I'm the Blade Demon, also known as Graddiu. Gladius, blade demon, Supreme Cutter, Blade executioner, world divider, unknown Ripper."
What is it... It can see my thoughts? Doesn't that mean I lose all my privacy? It's a monster! It's a demon!
"Listen, mortal, I have no interest in prying into your personal life, I just want to survive, okay?"
Charles tried hard to restrain his various thoughts, but Graddiu saw them all clearly.
"No, I won't eat your soul. I'm in a special situation." Graddiu kept reading Shire's thinking, and kept complaining, "Don't think about it, I won't turn you into a puppet, I just want to cut something to play when it's okay." Ah, what, you think I'm a parasite? That's disgusting. Ah, ah... Your subconscious mind... Your subconscious is a mess. Shame on you. I'm disgusted."
"Draw the line!" Shire said aloud in his mind, "Stop reading my thoughts!"
"All right." Graddiu agreed. "Listen to me, at least for now, we need each other."
"You need me, and I don't need you."
"Is it? Look, heartless mortal, who saved you? I brought you back to life with a powerful spell. You owe me your life."
"You brought me back to life so that my body could accommodate your presence."
"Isn't that great? I need a place to hide, and you need strength."
"Strength? What kind of power?"
"You'll see." Graddiu's voice sounded very profound. "The power you cannot refuse is enough for you to rule the world."
"I'm a demon hunter. I just want to hunt demons."
"Oh, how wonderful! I want to! I want to! Hunting demons? It's exciting to think about. It's much easier to devour a fellow than a mortal. Take me to the devil hunt! Where are the demons around? I want to be a demon hunter too!" Can't tell if it's sarcasm or sincerity.
"..."
"Someone's coming." Graddiu warned the Shire.
Char could faintly detect the activity and silence of the demon, which he had previously felt jumping up and down in his soul, but was now silent, passive or dormant.
The only reason is that demon hunters are here.
Char saw Tiffany walking through the forest, near the campstone ruins.
"Miss Jeffery! See the moment of predecessors shire very excited.
Tiffany, in her hunter's cloak, her hair disheveled, her coat stained with blood, and seemingly wounded, looked at the Shire with mixed expressions.
"What happened?" 'she asked.
Shire was stunned for a moment. Should I say a demon entered my body?
"Everybody..." Char replied, "... Monsieur Etienne is dead, Dalton is dead, and Valen is dead. '
"So how did you survive?" Tiffany drew her sword and moved toward the Shire. "Who the hell are you?"
"No... Monsieur Etienne destroyed the Blade Demon with the Flame of Yafen." Should I lie? Should I lie? "Blade Demon... It..."
"Dead? Banished?" Tiffany asked. "Char, tell me! Where's the Blade demon!"
"The Blade demon is... Here I am." Char admitted bitterly, "It got inside me, but it..."
"Are you possessed?" Tiffany folded her sword in her hand, both hands behind her, the tip pointing straight at the Shire.
"..." Shire was silent in reply.
"I'm so sorry." Tiffany looked sadly at Char. "We've come all the way here, eight hunters into the forest, and now it's just you and me. If you haven't been possessed by the devil, you should give it up."
"Give up... What?" Char found himself stuttering.
"Giving up life... I know this is difficult for you. You must die, and then I will cast the blade demon out of you and send it back to Hell."
"I... Don't want to die..." Char said with difficulty, "... Can't we go back to the Hunter's Sanctuary? There must be a way, there must be a way to get it out of me... 'Take it out,' right?"
"Wrong." "There is no way of taking me away from you," said Graddius to Charles. "We are now bound together in life and death."
What am I supposed to do?
"Kill her." Graddius constantly seduced Charles, "She is wounded, you can deal with her, I have to help you." Do you want to die? You just came back to life."
"I don't know, Char." Tiffany walked over to Char. "Quick, easy."
Shire wide eyes, Tiffany suddenly thrust a sword at Shire.
Hurts!
Char felt a blow to his liver that made his teeth grimace as he stumbled back. Tiffany looked at her sword with a mixed expression, the tip of which had been blunted by demonic forces into a rounded shape, or the sword would have cut through the Shire.
"You have turned into a demon." Tiffany threw the dull sword away and looked angry. "Nuyinfeng!"
The sharp silver light pierced Shire, while the emerald necklace around Shire's neck bloomed with brilliance, counteracting part of the spell's effect, and Shire was stabbed with such force that a bleeding gash appeared in his chest and he fell to the ground.
"Uh ah -" Shire fell to the ground, clutching his wound, his face white, should he fight back? To fight back against Tiffany? He had to do this to survive?
'Resist her! Kill her!" Graddius urged frantically in Charles's heart, "Kill her! Do you want to die? You wanna die?! If you want to live, she must die; if she lives, you cannot live!"
Jaffney lunged forward, pressed down on Char's body, and reached out her hand tightly around Char's neck.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry... Shire Because we're demon hunters, we have to do this..." Tiffany couldn't stop crying. Char tried to breathe, but the pressure on his trachea prevented air from getting into his lungs anyway, forcing his eyes wide and bloodshot.
"Struggle! Struggle! She's weak. You're strong. Go kill her! Stay alive! She has been caught in a trap I set in the forest, and she is dying!" Gladius was frantic, urging the Shire.
Shire to get up, Tiffany really has to the end of the spent force, by Shire easily free.
Tiffany was spitting blood, and now Char could see that there was a striking scratch on her body that cut through her chest, deep into the bone.
"The blade I planted cut her, ha..." "She is dying," said Gladius contemptuously. "She cannot fight you, and she cannot destroy me. We have won, Charles."
She tried to get to her feet, wiping the blood from the corners of her mouth, then hunched over her wound and stumbled to Master Federick's body. Tiffany fell to her knees, propping herself up with her hands, her mouth dripping with blood, her face dripping with tears, her sobs spilling into the ground.
"You are injured. You must..." Char gasped for air. She wasn't going to live long, and I killed her, and I was supposed to destroy the Blade Demon and finish the hunt once and for all...
Tiffany's face was pale.
"Are you the Shire, or the devil?" She sounds weak.
"Shire."
"This is the key to the chapel." Tiffany took a sterling silver key out of Frederick's arms. "Don't lose it."
Char's hand trembled.
"Come here, give me the crossbow." Tiffany said wearily.
"Don't listen to her. She wants to shoot you." Graddiu was very anxious.
Char recovered his scattered wooden crossbow from the ground, which survived the impact. He filled the crossbow and gave it to Tiffany, and even if she really tried to shoot him, he didn't complain.
"Listen up." Jeffery looked into the clearing and repeated a spell three times. With each repetition, silver gleamed and an extra dent appeared in the ground.
Shire heart uncomfortable, but do not know how to cry.
"Did you hear that? Tiffany asked softly.
"Nuin's edge." Shire whispered, but there was no fourth mark on the ground, dammit, dammit -- why can't I remember --
"You'll get good at it. Just, never let it control you, promise me, okay?"
"I swear."
Tiffany lifted the crossbow.
"I can stop blaming myself."
She blows at her throat and the strings rattle.
